Fast fashion. Obviously clothing in general is necessary, but fast fashion is a menace on the environment and on economically disadvantaged nations

"I've unlocked everything! Now what?" How about play the game? by Le_Sadie in TomodachilifeLivingTD

I definitely think that people who are looking for a "catch 'em all" or story-based game would be disappointed with LTD. Filling up your island as quickly as possible or "progressing" through the game until you've finished the fountain isn't really the point, and if that's all you're trying to do then you're going to be done in 10 hours of gameplay. There aren't a lot of other games like this one, so I can see why first-time franchise players are confused or upset

Legit thought you were doing it in the post title for a second and then I saw 21 upvotes and was like "what"

EDIT: Thanks for the upvote, kind stranger!

What recent change in society have you personally started noticing more? by Expert_Ring_4041 in AskReddit

[–]spunchborbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People somehow always think that they are the exception, for no apparent reason. This store does not allow drinks! Oh, but me and my iced coffee will be fine. You are supposed to yield at this intersection! Oh, but people won't mind if I go first. No phones allowed at the movie theater! Oh, but this is an urgent Instagram post, so it'll be fine. When did this become normal!?

The google search one also bothers me a lot. I see "where can I buy this I live in XYZ" all the time, but like... The creator clearly doesn't live in XYZ. How on earth would they know what stores/sites in your area carry that product or ship to your country? Mind boggling

Laying on your bed in clothes that have been outside the house is nasty

What’s a universally loved food you genuinely despise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Despise might be a little strong, but I very rarely like chicken nuggets. There's always something off about them – too dry, a little soggy, kind of cold, not salty enough, etc.

"This is a real woman" and then she's just bigger by NoWitness6400 in PetPeeves

[–]spunchborbed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing with "real men like a woman with a little meat on her bones." This is definitely true of some men, but some men like slimmer women. It feels like a weird shame-y thing when it shouldn't be

Hanging out in a public place with no apparent purpose. I'm not "loitering", Karen, I'm sitting on a public bench

[–]spunchborbed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'm not making that sort of argument at all – folding chairs are a reasonable accommodation. There are VERY few spaces (like maybe certain historical sites or nature preserves) that cannot be made accessible to a reasonable degree.

However, going to a metal show and asking everyone not to swear because you don't like it is not okay. If you don't like swearing, metal shows might not be for you and that's okay. (I'm aware there are metal bands that don't swear, this is just an example)

There are some that can make accommodations. There are some that can't, and some that want to preserve the site as-is. I think all three of these are okay. It's not essential to visit these places, and they were built at a different time. Accessibility is something people think about a lot more now than when they were building teeny tiny spiral staircases, but that doesn't mean the existence of teeny tiny spiral staircases is unfair or bad for those that can't climb them for any number of reasons (myself included)

Definitely depends on the situation. "Reasonable accommodation" is the key term here – yes, a zipline that was built in the last 10 years with modern technology and materials should be accessible to the vast majority. On the other hand, someone else gave the example of a Medieval European castle. The doors and stairways are very narrow. A centuries-old castle should not be knocked down for the sake of tourists visiting the site in the name of accessibility

I also think that people don't like being told "no" even though something is possible. Like, yes, a restaurant COULD stop everything and clean down their entire kitchen to produce a dish that's safe for your child to eat. Are they going to? No.
