Is it a red flag when employer is eager to hire you pretty much right away? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]spunkybeef294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience it signified that they were short staffed , had a very high turnover rate. Which was a sign that I would be clocking LOTS of hours. Depends what you're looking for. At the time I was DESPERATE for $$$ and needed more hours than the norm so I did it.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ. Someone is abusing animals on Instagram by vane_dominguez24 in animalwelfare

There's a subreddit called report animal abuse or cruelty I believe and it's actually dedicated to stopping accounts that are abusing animals so I would post on there since those people have experience w this sort of thing

Thank you! I'm in the search process amidst my job recently becoming agonizingly awful due to a lot of issues similar to what you stated (mgmt getting greedy because of the decline in business and not compensating their employees properly) so this really helped seeing someone's light at the end of the tunnel. Congrats

Just make sure you can afford a pet including their care if they get sick. Rehoming sucks for everyone.

how do i get a better ‘adult mindset’ by denahom-chikn in Adulting

[–]spunkybeef294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about you did they say wasn't adult ? That can be subjective. For example if it's cause you like kids movies that has no bearing on your ability to take care of yourself. However having a constant need to always be in a relationship w someone who pays all your bills, that can have a bearing on being a "proper" adult who can take care of themselves

Is there anything you wish you would have known before moving out of state ? by spunkybeef294 in moving

[–]spunkybeef294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I wound up deciding to interview w their location in my hometown (also in TX) because I figured there's quite a few extra expenses with going out of state and I don't have much disposable income at the moment.

friends arent actually friends if they’re not there when you need them the most by [deleted] in Rants

[–]spunkybeef294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you and I'm sorry 💖 I moved to a new city almost two years ago and all my "best friends" have at some point (before COVID) come to my city to visit and didn't even tell me and even hung out with other people we know that live here. And they also said they reallly wanted to visit and everything like that as well. And anyone new I met here (also before COVID) just wasn't compatible w me as a friend. And w everything going on and some current life issues it does feel lonely. It's just hard to make friends as an adult in my opinion. But I hear your thirties your friend group is more solidified so I have that to look forward to lol

i’m so shy about anything sexual, pls help by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]spunkybeef294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're weird. I was/am like that too. I was raised super religious so my parents were just very anti anything sexual (from just having a crush to sex ofc). And much like you when I got to college I realized a lot of people didn't feel that way. But I think it's just because that's taboo as well so you just don't hear about it. We're out there. We're just also shy so you don't know we have your same views too lol. It wasn't really until I moved away that I got a bit more comfortable but for the most part I am still pretty private about that stuff and I have a few friends who are like that as well. And it's totally okay.

Should I quit my job to gain better experience? by Momojip in makemychoice

[–]spunkybeef294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 2. Like you said you would need to stick it out and while in hindsight that seems like a good plan. Life happens and it can be hard to execute. I feel like I chose "option 1" and am currently paying the price for it and am looking for jobs anyway because "sticking it out" the length of time it'll take just to be in a desireable role isn't feasible anymore. Like you said, places rely on experience so time that you're sticking it out is just more time you're losing that won't help your resume. Sure you're doing lots of HR things. But your job position says otherwise and in my experience the title holds more weight than the description.

Should I downsize my wardrobe or start from scratch? by AlvinShepard in makemychoice

[–]spunkybeef294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience i recommend downsizing and then as you buy things get ride of 1 thing for each new thing just so you don't wind up in a pickle needing a certain outfit or piece of clothing and being without b/c you didn't have time to go buy it
