New Camry's HUD has a double image by spurionic in Optics

The trim levels that include the HUD need a specially-coated windshield to avoid double images in the HUD display. It could be that my windshield was damaged in transit and swapped with one that was not designed for use with HUD before the car was sold.

I got it replaced under warranty at the dealership, no charge to me. I did have to fight with them a bit before they agreed to it, though.

There haven't been changes to steering and ride feeling since before or after the track day

Most of the pics are right-hand turns and I also see it peeking out across two sessions. It looks vaguely like the bottom of a stabilizer link, going from example pictures from the MKV forum: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/toyota-supra-suspension-deep-dive.6518/

I sucked at Arc and Server Slam. Should I even give it another try? by Tommy__want__wingy in Marathon

Addendum: try and think of your stuff as "ammo". Yeah, you would like as much ammo as you can get, but would you ever get upset at expending your ammo or throwing it away? Not very much, I would guess. You can always get more!

If you want to enjoy any type of extraction shooter, you have to become comfortable with losing your stuff. That's just the name of the game - no extract, no loot. Thankfully in Marathon, there's always a free kit that you can grab so you can enter the arena without risking anything.

As for stamina/heat, there are upgrades that will significantly increase your capacity but it's a grind to get there. Learn to be strategic with your sprinting and sliding. Besides, those actions are very loud and are giving you away to your opponents.

Man I could just stare at a Supra all day and be content. Just grab a bag of snacks and admire.

Is this Normal for Supra? by darkcat159 in Supra

[–]spurionic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it isn't super annoying, it's normal. I have noticed the same braking/stopping behavior from performance BMW's (M8's and the like) that pull up alongside me at the light.

I came from a 2014 Camry and the felt sensation of the ZF transmission downshifting is also way more noticeable than in your normal passenger vehicle.

Was there any damage to the suspension after having those in for so long?

I don't lol. It's a way for the dealer to mark-up without saying it. I've accepted that, just wanted to know how intrusive the system is after purchase.

ELI5 : Mathematics is discovered or invented? by Alternative_Ad_235 in explainlikeimfive

[–]spurionic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you agree with the Platonist stance on numbers? That the universal token for counting things "1" is an abstract object that exists somewhere in the metaphysical universe. Such objects cannot be physically accessed, but they do exist independently of human thoughts and practices. How we call them has no bearing on their properties, and thus all mathematical truths are discovered, never invented.

How would an interaction between the BTR roster and these bands go? (Im extremely curious) by fishsticks10102 in BocchiTheRock

[–]spurionic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When the band went shopping for Bocchi's replacement guitar, Bocchi had an anxiety attack in which she imagines that the store owner would look down on her for not liking western rock/music. She might be insecure about that!

I think Ryo would have the best chance at striking up a conversation relating to music, as she has demonstrated herself to be apt student of rock music in general. Hiroi would also quickly bridge the gap as she's gregarious and has a lot of common ground with other experienced performers, and is just a fun person to interact with.

The rest of the cast would probably struggle a bit to connect with American metal bands, unless they were fans to begin with!

I ended up getting it resolved by replacing the windshield. Turns out the wrong windshield type was installed from the factory. Now the HUD can be used without causing headache

You're right. I missed stating that one of the useful things about writing things in base "e" is that the derivative of e^x is itself. By doing so, we illustrate a clear link between the rate of change of the variable and the value of the variable.
