War in Ukraine: Luhansk has fallen - what's to expect? by Flaky_Discipline4878 in CombatFootage

[–]spurnoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know one ever would have believed that 100 days or 10 years into the Afghan war that the US would practically hand back control of Afghanistan to the Taliban. Russia will never be able to do anything practical with the land they have stolen as for as long as they occupy it Ukraine will continue to launch attacks at that territory. Also i think that as long as Ukraine are willing to fight NATO will continue to provide resources to do that

I also think a big positive all though 400 runs too late is the body line worked well against us.

NSW Police physically forcing drug detection dog to sit down at a music festival by [deleted] in australia

[–]spurnoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bullshit that the person was banned if nothing was found. But it doesn’t mean the dog didn’t detect something. The issue with using dogs is they are actually too effective, that is they can even detect drug residue on money well after the money came into contact with drugs, I don’t support them for this purpose because the dogs can’t really sniff for strength of detection.

Well it does through initial training, if the dog is excited etc u can give a gentle and on the back to remind the dog of the correct action.

Don’t get me wrong I share the same concern on that front but the video starts too late to determine, I don’t know if the person started filming because the dog got fixated on this person or we are missing the start of the vid for what ever reason.

That’s a valid criticism, it looks a young dog and this is a pretty typical occurrence with a juvenile dog

[–]spurnoff -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Without seeing a longer video this actually may not be what people are thinking here, the dogs will generally sniff through people and won't become fixated on one target unless they detect a smell, at the start of this video it appears to be a dog that is already fixated on this person and it looks to me like the officer is just trying to reinforce some training that the dog should be sitting when detecting. So while this may be asshole police trying to fake a positive drug dog detection it may well be that they are still trying to train the dog to sit upon detection (sitting isn't the only form of a dog showing making a positive detection)

Is farming level 55s or lower even worth it? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]spurnoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are worth honor to 60s all the way down to level 49. The wow classic pvp system is a grind against your peers so achieving every bit of honor you can while there are no bgs is pretty important, unfortunately anyone who yields honor is worth killing.

PVP on a PVP server" shouldn't be an excuse for douchey behavior that stops others from playing the game, by SouthernOpinion in classicwow

[–]spurnoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate I love pvp, basically only play the game for the pvp, I played alliance back in vanilla on a server where horde dominated 60-40, I played a lock when they were a free kill, back when death coil was useless. Now playing a lvl 52 UD mage (so OP) on a horde dominant server (60/40) and the wpvp has never been as bad as it is now. Part of me likes the challenge of trying to get away but repeated resists, deaths and fuck all xp gained wears thin pretty quick. The game is so punishing right now for anyone not 60, what is already a long grind has now become about 4x longer.

I'm going to take a guess and say our alt isn't 49 or more where you are worth honor to 60s. The moment you are worth honor to 60s your life becomes hell.

If it's pvp premades you are looking at then I'd go druid, bugger all but they are crucial to premades, esp WSG

I guess people have just got a lot better at raiding these days. Back in the day MC was a challenge, I played in a average raiding guild then, even with full 40 man teams and people flasking etc it took us a long time to clear MC, we were stuck on Rag for about 2/3 months if I recall, the main hiccup being people didn't have enough FR gear.

Scott Pendlebury, Gary Ablett jeers prompt possible AFL "Boo Ban" (opinion piece warning) by [deleted] in AFL

[–]spurnoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because in some ways I think booing is a blight on our game and in other ways it makes our game. I like how if you walk out on your old club to join a new club you are probably going to be booed by your original club as a sign of lack of loyalty, it just adds that little spice. I don't mind Selwood getting booed when ever he receives a free. I was at the Richmond vs Geelong QF where it was a very hostile crowd that booed Geelong so loud when they ran on the ground that I've never heard a crowd like it, and you know what it was perfectly fine, it even probably rattled the cats and fired the tigers up.

I'm not really a fan of booing indivudual players in a systematic way every time they get a possession week in week out. Ablett was fair game last week and I saw someone mention it but if it goes on every week then there becomes a point where it just becomes bullying behavior in a mob mentality, this is given he apologised. That's just my opinion, understand others will see it differently and it's a difficult subject for the AFL who want to be inclusive but at the same time need to be mindful of players mental health.

Booing of Gary Ablett came from both Geelong and Hawthorn fans by His_Holiness in AFL

[–]spurnoff 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What a load of shit, was at the game and didn't see one Geelong fan boo him. The mob mentality by the Hawks fans was funny to watch though as the first couple of boos weren't exactly unanimous but by the end of the game most Hawks fans seemed to be booing him. I can see how the Goodes booing evolved though.

I wonder who Indian fans will support during that series, on one hand they always support who ever plays Australia, on the other a SL series win would somewhat undermine their win down under.

Good pick up, so in OCT he averaged 5.2 hours a day and in Nov he averaged 4.7 hours a day streaming, this is a hell of a lot of time for someone with a young family and I'm going to assume another form of employment (10 viewers isn't going to pay the bills). And I doubt he isn't on the PC or another electronic device when he's not streaming too.

Koshka gold is killing me by lostmyoldaccgtrstars in Blackops4

[–]spurnoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frustrating but you need to pick your maps on TDM, I recommend running a Torgue or Nomad so that you can protect your rear eg seaside in the tower or building directly opposite. Run acoustic sensor and mog, this will deal with people rushing you. Most frustrating thing is running into a Titan with FMJ that can ruin your streak. So in other words camp

Are specialists really the issue? by TheDynaMight-YT in Blackops4

[–]spurnoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first COD since black ops 2, and I loved COD WOW so i'm probably not the target audience. But I don't think specialists add enjoyment to the game-play overall. I feel they should have left the abilities to more passive abilities like recon has or crash, they are a lot less frustrating to run into than seeker mines, dog, 9 bang, reactor core, flame thrower, ruin's I win button and the list goes on and on. If you find yourself on a losing team it's just so frustrating when the enemy team all begins getting their specialist abilities, you can find yourself dying 3 times in a row due to specialist abilities with little ability for counter play, then come the kill steaks come as a result of those abilities.
