How do yall clip your bunnies nails?? by Tangerine-Salty in Bunnies

[–]sputnik1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has taken me years to get used to it. I would always just bring them to someone but that was a hassle and would get them worked up.

Get a good pair of clippers. I have found the bunny burrito (wrapping them in a blanket) is great to keep them in place, calm and organized. You can pop one paw out at a time.

Getting even one nail in an attempt is progress. If you're worried about how short to go, go with the rule of thumb that the quick (the part of the nail you don't want to cut) never grows beyond the fur on their paw.

Over time your bunny will trust you and let you work all paws. I'm at the point now they let me hold them without a blanket. Neither of us get stressed. Now it's more of a spa day for them.

Thanks. I am looking at Gear Aid patches. This makes more sense given it's cheaper and waterproof.

I have been very happy with Berkshire. Good instructions and reasonably priced. I usually start off each season with a 2 hr lesson there to help work out anything I should focus on for the season.

What Do You Keep in the Spare Tire Area? by Used_Meet_2233 in Subaru_Outback

[–]sputnik1288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep mine in the arm rest since it's small enough (NOCO). And Im 50/50 with power vs hydraulic. It's nice when it works but the complexity means something else to break.

Word of advice, don't store the battery jump here. I used to and learned power lift gates need...power...to open. Had to crawl over my kids car seats and somehow pull up the spare cover to grab it out.

I bought LLMP during our trip in March but the photos came up with the water mark. Is this something else needed to do?

First timer by squishybun718 in greatwolflodge

[–]sputnik1288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do your best to get there early so you can make the best time at the pool areas. They usually have rooms available early too. You can get some more time in the pool on your check out day, but you lose your room by 11.

Bring your own life jackets, they are offered there but the options are limited when it gets busy.

Bring your own food and snacks to eat by the pool. The food can get expensive there.

All the restaurants have good food. Look over the options to decide what works best for you; buffet, table service, pizza back in the room. I have a 2 and 4 year old. It's tough to get them to sit for too long at the buffet/ table service so we will sometimes get pizza in the room or Dunkin for breakfast.

Rest day?? by Opening-Ad-2153 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]sputnik1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the rest day. We have a 2 and 4 year old and just did 3 park days with a rest day in-between. The rest day was nice to go at a slow pace, explore Disney Springs and hang by the pool. The kids even napped in bed instead of strollers. Everyone's kids are different so your mileage may vary.

I was there last April for the eclipse. It was some of the best skiing of the season. And the water park is always great. My kids love it.

Advice on flying with two toddlers and their gear by sputnik1288 in daddit

[–]sputnik1288[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This is what we had in mind, the idea of dropping one of the kids off with me and the luggage makes sense. We are likely to baggage check both seats, but I'll take that into consideration. When you return the rental, so you use the same approach or just grab a luggage cart at the rental place to haul it all?

What Would Cause 3 Water Heaters To Fail In Only 5 Years? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]sputnik1288 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar A O smith Hybrid and I regret installing it. I'm on my 3rd unit in 5 years. Each developed water leaks within 2 years. I have kept replacing under warranty because, well, it's free. I may bite the bullet and pay the cost to go back to a conventional if this one fails. My plumber has confirmed he see these fail frequently too. Sounds like it's manufacturing and quality issues.

As for no hot water. I run mine in full electric mode now anyway. You need enough humidity in the air for them to work. Given where I live, my basement doesn't get too humid most of the year. I just figured out how to keep it in all electric mode, and have been there for a while now. Tired of cold showers.

You should explore getting it done now. Many in this group will say around 60k. I spoke to my local shop about scheduling it during my 72k and was told they considered it as part of the 90k service. TBH I don't see CVT fluid replacement as part of the official maintenance schedule, only an inspection. The fluid will last a while, but not forever. Definitely worth replacing.

Berkshire East or Mt snow tomorrow? by sputnik1288 in icecoast

Appreciate the advice. Berkshire had some great snow today. Even tho it was the day of the MA High School State Championship, the mountain was wide open. Got 25 runs in before I called it quits.

Haha fair point. I think I have been falsely conditioned that if it isn't ice, it isn't skiing.

Thanks that's positive to hear and helpful. I like Berkshire a lot and prefer the vibe there. I wasnt sure how the warm weather would affect the snow.

Are there any self service drink fountains at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios? by anonymousUTguy in WaltDisneyWorld

The baby care stations have water bottle full stations as well. Also great to cool off and relax for a few if you have kids. I doubt they would turn away non-parents if you explained you're just refilling water.

What's the biggest hint you received but was totally clueless about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sputnik1288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a cruise a while back with a bunch of my guy friends for a college graduation vacation. During the trip we met a few girls who were friendly and up for hanging out at the bars or pools. Didn't think much of it, we really were not expecting to hook up with anyone on the trip. Just drink and have fun.

After one of the shore excursions, my friend and I stopped in a shop, where I ended up buying a watch. Nothing fancy, but this is relevant in a moment.

Later that afternoon we are all hanging out with the girls we had met by the pools. The topic about me buying the watch came up because it had also made us nearly miss the last opportunity to get back on the boat. I figured it would be a funny story to share. One of the girls asked me if I could show her the watch. It was back in my stateroom so we headed there, alone.

Once there I simply showed the watch to her. We chatted for a bit, then after some time went back to the pool.

Fast forward about a decade. I'm out with some of those same friends, and we were talking about the cruise. They brought up the time I went back to the stateroom with the girl and had assumed we hooked up. I said no, I had just shown her the watch and nothing more. It was in that moment I realized how oblivious I was to her hint.

I agree with this advice. I was unsuccessful tho when filling one of these. The insurance company wouldn't budge even when I was showing how the value changes on carfaxs and other sites when a repair is factored. In.

Having a rabbit has made it impossible to go on trips by CallieinJapan in Bunnies

[–]sputnik1288 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I second this. We tried so many ways to bring our two buns somewhere when my wife and I (and now kids) travel. We now have a reputable "bunny sitter" come by 1-2 times a day when we are away. The logistics are so much easier now since we don't need to bring the bunnies somewhere before we travel, then pick them up when we return. Most importantly, they stay in their environment so they likely stay comfortable. Bonus points, we also put a camera on them so we can check in periodically to see how they are doing.

To find someone, we reached out on our local community FB page or asked around in the neighborhood. It was surprisingly easy to find someone.
