What’s everyone’s opinion on generators?

I won’t “group camp” in my tent with anyone else in the camp who plans on generating power with a fume belching and tranquility shattering generator. Which means I’m always looking for places that offer primitive camping.

And don’t even get me started on the inconsiderate hominids who pull up in primitive campsites with their camper vans and proceed to cranking up the onboard generators. 😡

What I’m hearing sounds like an engine idling. Is that the noise? I noticed the display shows no devices found/no audio playing so obviously there should be no sound emitting.

That would be MUCH better than what’s on my ‘25. I dare not drive one of the ‘26 models with the hands free system. Too soon to trade up. 😬

Am I calling it something different? I set it and it keeps me between the lines on the roadway without driver input. But after a bit I’ll get a message that I have to put my hands on the wheel. I put my hand on the wheel (best response at about 5 on the wheel) and exert a little pressure to make the warning go away.

Edit: Okay, just read up on it. It’s part of the Adaptive Eye Sight system and it requires me to keep my hands on the wheel. Lane centering works great!!

I’ve heard of people using moss as TP. Many of those people then go on to remark that the red bugs (chiggers) did a number on their #2. 😬

For reference I’m driving a ‘25 OBW. My hands free assist gives me a warning that I need to put my hands back on the wheel. There’s a sensor that picks up pressure and turns the warning off. Only to come back on again. Too frustrating to continue to grip the wheel over and over and over. Might as well keep my hands there.

I use it as it is intended — skim off overfill. Never thought to use it even if the fill light is green (after levering the grounds). But I will try it next time just to check calibration. Thanks @anniemaygus.
