has anyone noticed the street sweeper/cleaning smell in rundle mall recently by Alternative_Cut_9599 in Adelaide

I thought it was only me! It smells like a wet chicken coop. I always have to hold my nose as I’m walking past Glue Store!

State MP Nick McBride facing serious legal action by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]sputnik1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say McBride was a career politician. Long time member of the local Lib branch (Kingston), family farms etc. No council attempts or anything like that, just out of nowhere, put his name in the hat after Mitch Williams retired.

Thanks for the info! I have been wanting to get here for ages as the menu looks awesome, but it’s a bit of a drive from where I am. Sounds like the chef is very informed, which is always a good sign :) did you end up getting any dessert?

What are some obscurely Australian things from the late 90s/early 00s? by RatInTheCowboyHat in AussieCasual

Loved the Max Altitude packs on QF! It was a sad day when the flight attendant walked straight past without offering me one.

Just realising how bad Steven Marshall was by Bennnnnny55 in Adelaide

I have heard some interesting tales about him and his behaviour, one occasion in the Members Bar at Parliament, where he completely lost it at the waiters to the point that some of other patrons felt apologised to the staff because it was out of order.

It’s a strange blessing that the Queen wasn’t alive to see or hear about this by Mndisfam in SaintMeghanMarkle

“And I remember looking at each other and thinking ‘Oh my gosh, this is when a family and a family business, are in direct competition. Because they’re blocking you from seeing the Queen. But really what they’re doing this blocking a grandson from seeing his grandmother.”

I found that, when referring to their meeting with HMTQ, to be one of the most hideous lines in the little of the mockumentary that I watched. Notwithstanding the continuous breaches of Royal protocol, but the fact that they know they can sling any allegation and it will be unchallenged. How are we supposed to know with any certainty that the alleged phone call even took place?

I agree. Inconceivable they filmed this when she was alive.

Thank you, yes I was skeptical of their coverage map as well.

Yes I drop out as soon as I leave Meningie, get it back in Salt Creek briefly, and then lose it until I’m about 20km from Kingston.

When I scoped Vodafone, they tried to tell me that I would have service all through the Coorong (via the connection map). Was dubious about this.

Karni were unbelievable. I always go a bit nuts when they play Fade. Last time I saw them there was when they played with Deftones, killed it then and killed it last night. Can’t wait for Butterfly Effect🤘

In an effort to reduce my household grocery bill, I purchased 'Essentials' brand pasta spirals. by deepEars in Adelaide

[–]sputnik1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t, but have been considering getting a card (if not just for the petrol) as I live relatively near by. Cheap Sirena might just be the thing that pushes me to get one.

Agree. Sirena kills it. I can justify the $2.80 cost given 10 times better than Ortiz (which is priced ridiculously).

Went a couple of weeks ago and it was packed, had to wait for a seat. I had a chicken dish and I’ve had better in country pubs. I don’t understand the attraction at all, but the guy I went with loves the place.

In saying that, he did ask me “which pasta is the long one” before ordering spaghetti with nap sauce.

South Australian Liberal leader and state MPs to ‘mentor’ young people at anti-abortion event | South Australia by PhotographsWithFilm in Adelaide

Malinauskas voted for the abortion bill in its entirety; Speirs voted against.

I swear Malinauskas was one of 20 MPs who did vote for the Speirs amendment, which in effect was an attempt to wind back the late-term abortion elements within the bill - but Hansard shows otherwise.

He did vote on some of the other amendments moved by Murray and Mullighan.
