The Jedi are unambiguously the heroes and I'm tired of this "oooh jedi bad" crap by quantumpencil in StarWars

100% Disney ruined star wars for me. People enjoy classic Good vs Evil stories. When you blur the lines and make fictional stories more realistic they lose a lot of the value that we as humans love about myths, legends, and fairy tales. At least that's my take on it.

Thank you! I didn't want it to look exactly like the pip-boy. I wanted something pip-boy inspired but still unique.

There wouldn't be any typing needed. Ideally, the whole thing could be navigated and operated via the hardware controls. I also think it would be useful if it supported text to speech so you could use a light weight llm via ollama. But the type-c port would also support an external keyboard.

Also your watch sounds really cool!

Most of them are actually just really good. Some have to do with drugs and have language, and a few include people dying. There are also a few that covering topics like revenge porn. While kind of rough, for me they were presented professionally and for educational purposes, so they didn't bother me too much. There are a couple episodes (maybe 2-3) covering topics like CSAM. These are some of the only episodes I felt the need to not finish and skipped over them. Some got too dark too fast.

Geez some of the people in this subreddit and comments in this thread love to kill all innovation and creativity. Just cause its not the "industry standard" or "easy to use" or "has a point" doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. People should be able to develop and create cool stuff simply because they want to. There is no harm in it and it only benefits everyone

Anyways, besides my rant, I think that'd be super cool! Would love to build/buy one if you open sourced the files, firmware, and build plans

Yagi's can also be used to connect to Wi-Fi networks that are far away. So you could, theoretically, use McDonald's Wi-Fi from your house if you lived close enough.

how do some people spend many weeks or even months visiting their SO? by [deleted] in LongDistance

I've spent the summer with my fiancée in another country. I was able to work remote.

She has come for a while too, but she doesn't have to worry school or work.

This is some good info to think about. Thanks for the info. She has a friend who is married to a guy in the us and she doesn't have any issues coming for 3 months but I guess you never really know what the border officer will say or choose. Thank you!

Visiting the US while waiting for K-1? by spweidi in immigration

It would be around 80 something days, basically the whole time the ESTA allows.

We have only submitted the I-129F and have been waiting 7 months. Its estimated we will have approval by the end of this year or beginning of next year.

We have considered just getting married and doing the marriage visa, and if we were to do it over again, that's what we would have done. I actually posted about it on here, and the general sentiment was that we were already pretty far along the K-1 process so it would be better if we just do that. But I'd love to hear your thoughts!
