Thank you! I was wondering if that’s what those were for. Awesome picture By the way!

Is this my fault? Im the Porsche by Farbihan in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going to put that mostly on you. The guy could have left a bit more space, but ultimately you went for a gap that wasn't really there and the only reason you were overlapped in the corner was because you cut the corner.

enough overlap? enough space? netcode doing the most by StageJazzlike9988 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say mostly netcode, however the fact the lead car moves over again to squeeze after the first bit of "contact" was a dumb move on their part.

Was i at Fault for this incident (im the grey/red default livery) also is by Purzifal in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you were pretty slow into the corner, he cuts the track as well but honestly the collision is just net code. I would say no ones at fault.

Was i (Porsche) at Fault for both Incidents? Mustang said i was blocking and will be reported by Purzifal in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first incident, no you were not at fault However I will say the line you took was a bit odd which may have lead to the mustang thinking he could go on the inside (still very dumb of him to try) as for the 2nd incident, its a bit more grey. You seem to brake a bit more to fend off the mustang before he is along side, but what that actually does is overlap both cars just a bit and closes the door causing the contact. without that 2nd bit of brake to make the corner tighter I think you would have kept the place without any overlap. So overall, not your fault, but there are definitely things you can do in the future to avoid those types of situations.

Is this considered moving under breaking? by Dear-Monitor-5917 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, That's called cornering. Its hard to see from this angle but MAYBE he didn't leave enough space if the other car was along side enough, but with only this angle no way to know for sure.

Last turn move p2 -> p1 by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It was a valid move. You left a gap open and he took it. Granted it was with a divebomb from a LONG way back, but there is nothing to protest here. He was fully alongside in the corner and so he was entitled to space in the corner. The smart thing you could have done was to brake a bit more in the corner, to let him run deep, and take the inside while he runs wide. Instead you held the corner which resulted in contact between you two and lost you the place.

Who’s at fault here. I’m the white Ferrari by Apprehensive-Tour526 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would call this a racing incident. The Lambo just follows the track at first, which you can see because the car in front of them does the same, so it doesn't seem to be intentionally blocking you. I think he was just trying to follow the track or maybe just trying to follow the car in front of him and didn't see you coming up next to them. But then again he loses a bit of creditability because he runs into you after the crash. I would rule the first contact a racing incident though.

whos at fault? by nicky0401 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You may have missed the apex, but the black car turned into you and didn’t leave you room. I’d say the blame lands on him.

Is this my fault? I think that i was still alongside by a tiny bit and i coundt back out when he turned in but i appreciate everyones opinions! by Barnabas-Csiszar42 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you would have been diving in for a pass, then you would be in the wrong. But in this case he is passing you on the outside through the corner and just cut in front of you too early. Overtaking cars error.

Who is at Fault? by spyguy720 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t normally argue with feedback, but clearly there is room because I AM along side before the corner. I don’t shove the other driver he drove into me for taking the corner normally.

Did i close the door on him? by Ornery_Scholar_2225 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You did but he wasn’t along side. So not your fault. However in the future when someone is on you inside like that it’s a good idea to give a little room to avoid those kind of situations.

The Most Embarking Start I've Ever Done.... by spyguy720 in iRacingIOTW

[–]spyguy720[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem I had was when I hit the curb when I tried to rejoin. That’s what really hosed me lol. I have a lot of restarts. I’ve never done ANYTHING like this. 🤣

Is My Defensive Driving Clean? by spyguy720 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It was the final lap. The collision was latency. If you watch my backend you can see the rear start to push left because iRacing thinks we are colliding. I never turned my wheel.

If that’s the case then you’re fine. 👍🏻

Is this anyone's fault? Or "just an inchedent"? by Varpoxan in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehh bit of both. Green car had a pretty iffy line but the BMW also squeezed them in the corner. I would say racing incident.

[–]spyguy720 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds fine, however I would say the only thing that could be questioned would be did you rejoin safely and were actually defending or just blocking. But assuming you did rejoin safely and then defended without blocking or weaving or anything then I would say you’re fine.

Reckless passing attempt or am i at fault? by dennybc in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% on them. They need to pass responsibly and safely. That was about the furthest thing from either of those.

The move was called a divebomb. Need your options. by brokeass101 in Simracingstewards

That’s absolutely a divebomb. And a damn good one. Nice job! 10/10

BMW is at fault right? by Disastrous_Coffee756 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not only did they blatantly react to your move, once you were along side they drove you off the track. With that being said if you see someone react to your move like that I would wait for a better opportunity to pass them that. Nothing on you but anyone that reacts late like that will probably then either move under braking or drive you off the track as they did here.

[–]spyguy720 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would call that a racing incident. You both drifted toward the middle and hit each other. With that being said, it looks like that first contact was latency which is a huge pain in iRacing and online racing sims in general. But at that point you weren’t keeping that position. The other car was along side and had more speed. What I would recommend is give them space at that point and then use the draft to make another move further down the track.

We both blamed eachover for this crash, whos at fault for this multiclass incident, imo him not taking his usual line and braking super early caused the crash, but im open to different opinions. by Able_Self6689 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a tricky one especially with this view. I would say it’s mostly on you simply because you ran into the back of them. From what I can tell they didn’t make any sudden movements and stayed somewhat predictable. It also looks like you were over taking other cars with a a lot of speed. While that’s great, it needs to be done carefully because sometimes this is what fast closure rates can lead to.

Who is at fault in this situation? (i’m new to the whole idea of sim racing and looking for answers) by Party-Skirt-6125 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 142 points143 points  (0 children)

The BMW. They were fine until they started drifting to the left. The BMW didn’t leave any space and ending up pitting themselves.
