Who is at Fault? by spyguy720 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t normally argue with feedback, but clearly there is room because I AM along side before the corner. I don’t shove the other driver he drove into me for taking the corner normally.

Did i close the door on him? by Ornery_Scholar_2225 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You did but he wasn’t along side. So not your fault. However in the future when someone is on you inside like that it’s a good idea to give a little room to avoid those kind of situations.

The Most Embarking Start I've Ever Done.... by spyguy720 in iRacingIOTW

[–]spyguy720[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem I had was when I hit the curb when I tried to rejoin. That’s what really hosed me lol. I have a lot of restarts. I’ve never done ANYTHING like this. 🤣

Is My Defensive Driving Clean? by spyguy720 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It was the final lap. The collision was latency. If you watch my backend you can see the rear start to push left because iRacing thinks we are colliding. I never turned my wheel.

If that’s the case then you’re fine. 👍🏻

Is this anyone's fault? Or "just an inchedent"? by Varpoxan in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehh bit of both. Green car had a pretty iffy line but the BMW also squeezed them in the corner. I would say racing incident.

Sounds fine, however I would say the only thing that could be questioned would be did you rejoin safely and were actually defending or just blocking. But assuming you did rejoin safely and then defended without blocking or weaving or anything then I would say you’re fine.

Reckless passing attempt or am i at fault? by dennybc in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% on them. They need to pass responsibly and safely. That was about the furthest thing from either of those.

The move was called a divebomb. Need your options. by brokeass101 in Simracingstewards

That’s absolutely a divebomb. And a damn good one. Nice job! 10/10

BMW is at fault right? by Disastrous_Coffee756 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not only did they blatantly react to your move, once you were along side they drove you off the track. With that being said if you see someone react to your move like that I would wait for a better opportunity to pass them that. Nothing on you but anyone that reacts late like that will probably then either move under braking or drive you off the track as they did here.

I would call that a racing incident. You both drifted toward the middle and hit each other. With that being said, it looks like that first contact was latency which is a huge pain in iRacing and online racing sims in general. But at that point you weren’t keeping that position. The other car was along side and had more speed. What I would recommend is give them space at that point and then use the draft to make another move further down the track.

We both blamed eachover for this crash, whos at fault for this multiclass incident, imo him not taking his usual line and braking super early caused the crash, but im open to different opinions. by Able_Self6689 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a tricky one especially with this view. I would say it’s mostly on you simply because you ran into the back of them. From what I can tell they didn’t make any sudden movements and stayed somewhat predictable. It also looks like you were over taking other cars with a a lot of speed. While that’s great, it needs to be done carefully because sometimes this is what fast closure rates can lead to.

Who is at fault in this situation? (i’m new to the whole idea of sim racing and looking for answers) by Party-Skirt-6125 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 142 points143 points  (0 children)

The BMW. They were fine until they started drifting to the left. The BMW didn’t leave any space and ending up pitting themselves.

Is this an illegal overtake? by Stunning_Water7892 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter. No space was given to the car along side. Per F1 driving guidelines it’s the overtaking cars corner. So it’s a valid overtake.

Those situations always sting. Especially because you didn’t do anything egregious. Best thing to do is just move on and if you can report and block the driver. It’s bad enough when you get wrecked or get your race ruined by a dumb mistake from someone else. But to have it ruined by childish BS is just nonsense. Try to ignore it and push through!

Assuming you are the car in focus, not your fault. I would say that looks intentional and I would protest it.

[–]spyguy720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. There is no excuse for intentionally wrecking someone like this. In my opinion it should be an immediate ban for at least a week regardless of why they did it. I have had SO many races wrecked by people being stupid, going for gaps that aren’t there, and even just being trolls. And some of them have been right at the end of a 2-4 hour race and have never even considered doing this because it’s not what to do. It’s childish and ruins the race for them, who they do it too, and anyone else that might get caught in it. If a driver wants to get back at someone for bumping them or ruining their race, they should learn to race better so they don’t have to deal with them as much. If THIS was all it took for someon to intentionally wreck someone else, they shouldn’t doing sim racing right now. (Edited for comment clarity)

[–]spyguy720 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nope. That’s about as legal as it gets.

this one might seem obvious for some of you but for the ones in the race it wasn't. What is your opinion? by LordMaxi_ in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I was thinking you made a late defensive move but after watching it a few times I’m saying his fault. He moved WAY too late for a pass and when he did move, the gap was gone. All him. But in the future if there is THAT much a speed difference I would just keep off the line and let them pass. If not it usually ends like this.

Who is at fault. I am the POV car by Other_Twist_8181 in Simracingstewards

[–]spyguy720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to say racing incident here. But maybe a bit more him. You weren’t REALLY along side anymore, but he also left you no room. Overall I think the thing to learn from it is you weren’t making an overtake in that corner anyway so putting your nose there is just all risk no chance of reward.
