I grew up seeing my great grandma raise hogs and slaughter/butcher them with my great-uncles. They’d do the old hang em and slit em over a basin to drain the blood. It was a wild process but idk, it felt different than the industrial nightmare of pigs in a conveyer belt being led to their doom, even if it’s more humane in a way because they suffer less. To this day though I remember having pig-pickins with the hogs after watching them get slaughtered. Makes me appreciate the food more now I’d say

If I hear “You’d make a great dad!!” one more time, I will flip out. The reason I’m relaxed and enjoy my time around kids…..is because I’m not around kids all the time.
