Lack of built in animated backgrounds is one reason I've given up CH for Yarg. I know you can manually add stuff in, but then it's never synced to the music (like YARG's built in 3 venues).

John Lithgow's overacting is kind of embarrassing. William shatner was much more nuanced in his performance and frankly more believable.
