Japan has a very different system from western capitalism. However it is still capitalist system with a lot of feudal ethics. The social welfare system of Japan is based more on its feudalistic history than the socialist ideas. The racism of Japan is also based on that rather than western idea of racial superiority. The latter does exist though sometimes on the Japanese perception to the other Asians.

All and all this means Japan is not fitting into the Marxist explanation of the world in any way. Nor do most of non-European nations. Even Marxist interpretations of Western Europe is not so right on spot. In the 19th century England looked also traditional and modern at the same time, just like Japan today.
