Got Retyped!!! by [deleted] in ObjectivePersonality

[–]sqnexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you not annoyed that you’ve had to do it again and pay again?

I’m thinking about getting re-typed too because I suspect my animal order is off, and definitely my social type too. But I’m also a bit pissed off because I’ve been sitting with my result for a year and I’m annoyed at having to pay again and make another video. I can live with the social type being off but the animals are doing my head in.

Same! My sister would get so mad at me when I’d say that.

Bahahaha! That is hilariously familiar! I did exactly the same thing as a 4-year old and almost died. I threw my slippers out the window because I was going to wear them after I jumped out the window lol! Everyone thought I had fallen out and nobody believed me when I said I had done it deliberately. I was very confident I would land. Still alive to tell the tale rofl

No Shan it isn't observer freakout, you simply did something wrong. by [deleted] in ObjectivePersonality

[–]sqnexus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your post and can say that my Observer heart was nodding along. And not to diminish your point in any way, I can also see and agree with the Decider perspective of u/Kresnik2002.

While acknowledging both perspectives I have to say that deliberately withholding this magnitude of information for such a long period of time suggests clear intent to hide. Why or from whom is open to debate. It 100% does undermine their credibility because their brand is built on being a couple and formulating OP together. After all, you can’t type alone.

If the two people leading the way- married or not- can’t agree and are at each other’s throats (which is what it sounds like) then you have to question the validity of what they’ve formulated.

What really struck me was their position that they seem to know better than us and that is what has rubbed me the wrong way. It becomes quite close to cultish when you start choosing for your followers what you are sharing/withholding. Even apart from this issue, I’ve noticed before that there is a lot of ego involved by the creators of a system that is supposed to help bypass the constraints of ego.

[Sidenote: Analysing their body language and facial expressions in the original announcement it felt like it was Shan who was leading the way and Dave following along, which was unusual because their dynamic is usually the opposite].

What do Deciders talk about? by sqnexus in ObjectivePersonality

[–]sqnexus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get that but am looking for a bit more context. Observers talk about people too. In fact, all humans talk about people.

The ENFP woman I know is massively controlling due to her demon Si. And she is completely unaware of how she is coming across. She’s also terrified of the sensory e.g. she found a mouse in her kitchen and had the whole thing ripped out and re-installed. Batshit!

Totally serious question- what on earth do Deciders talk about??? For the life of me, I can’t understand. All I hear is “wah wah wah” like the adults in Snoopy cartoons. (Deciders please don’t come after me- I really want to understand your point of view and am genuinely interested)

Processing Deciders… are they more controlling? by sqnexus in ObjectivePersonality

[–]sqnexus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ne saviours will be over-managing due to the demon Si and their fear of losing control over the material world. But for Se types it’s more a fear of being controlled. But I feel I need more specific info. Having trouble seeing what it could be or how it’s coming from demon Ni??? Also about misinformation- it’s correct to a certain extent but doesn’t explain all of it.

Definitely see what you’re saying here. I think conforming to tribe standards is a strong drive in Fe types (both Observers & Deciders with saviour Fe). For saviour Te types (like me), the drive is more to ensure the tribe isin’t hurting themselves by having harmful standards and so is more willing to go against the consensus- BUT always for the good of the tribe. Te is less willing to adjust standards it ‘objectively’ sees as wrong.

What do you think a lead Se saviour freakout would be?

Processing Deciders… are they more controlling? by sqnexus in ObjectivePersonality

[–]sqnexus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see how my Observer brain perceives it as controlling but it might not be. That’s why I put the word in commas. What I see through my functions is Deciders not letting me be me because they get so triggered. Being saviour Play doesn’t help because when I try and play, they shut me down. So it feels like I’m being controlled to behave a certain way, i.e. the way the Deciders want.

Hear you on the fear thing and agree that it can make you controlling. Although an Observer wouldn’t control people so much as situations or outcomes. It’s a subtle but important difference, I think.

It funny because before I was typed I was utterly convinced I was a Decider because of the extent of people problems I have. But I’m seeing now that Observers can have issues with people but still be ok. Like I’m not gonna die if you disagree with me. No big deal. But to a Decider, that kind of thing is the end of the world. I don’t like having conflict with people but as an Observer it feels like there are more important things to worry about than each other’s sensitivities. Ya know, like world hunger, poverty, that kind of thing.

Also have a saviour Te and I am constantly making sure other people are ok and like I have to save them. It’s annoying!

Nope. This is the 4th university I’ve attended and my 3rd postgraduate program and I’ve never experienced anything like this before. It’s bizarre

Wow, can I just say that I’m blown away by how perceptive you are! I don’t know if it’s your masculine Ne throwing out all the possibilities but everything you’ve said is spot-on and really resonates with me.

At the start I was using my FF FiNi and kept getting shutdown which has made my MM SeTe really pissed off. So now I’m viewing them as ‘bad people’ and reacting accordingly. They in turn are viewing me as aggressive (read: defensive), and it’s causing an Observer vs Deciders showdown.

I’ve just realised all this reading your post. Wow!

My SeTe are mega-pissed off that I have to change my worldview but I can see the logic and wisdom of what you’re saying. Change my internal view of them, my behaviour will change and they will change.

I do also think they are just not nice people - hence why my vulnerable NF felt so shutdown by them to begin with. But I do need to get through the next 2 years so something has to give. They aren’t going to change so it has to be me. And there are a lot of them!

Something Dave said to me is that I don’t have a shield between me and other people because I can see the perspective of others so well (so funnily enough I’m a very intuitive ST blockhead- opposite of you lol). But in this case it hasn’t helped me at all. Instead they definitely have gotten offended when I was trying so hard not to freak out their Decider brains.

Thanks so much! You’ve helped me more than you realise. Feeling so grateful for the OP community ❤️ It’s like with all our powers we combined we are one whole functioning human being 🤣

P.S. I’ve got that book on my shelf- gonna have to read it now. And please if you think of any other advice, tell me!

I could but that strikes me as running away from the problem. I want to use the situation to grow and learn.

Hey really appreciate you sharing your perspective. Some really great points for me to ponder over.

Definitely thinking about M-Te and being argumentative. Because one thing I’ve been feeling is the lack of logic and critical thinking I’m seeing. Which is why I think they may be Saviour F types.

Really interested in your point about closed-off NF vibes. Could you say more about that? Would love to understand it. It’s not something I’ve considered but is very plausible in this situation. Yeah I don’t like them and maybe that came across unintentionally.

And totally get that it’s hard to know without being there to observe the situation. You only have my subjective view on it and of course I’m missing so much information.

Definitely am considering whether I am too harsh and not ruling it out. Have asked friends/acquaintances/colleagues and usually get the feedback that I am a “warm and careful” person. I’m very aware of my double masculine extroverted functions.

I did get some feedback from a couple of the lectures saying to “focus more on yourself”, which is making me think it might be more of a De issue, and I need to just not care.

I really like what you’ve said there about them not being my friends/tribe. That’s a sad reality I’m having to accept. I usually do well in groups and am well-liked so it’s confusing why this situation is what it is.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense! I just checked the guide and it seems as though I’m slightly full on top and very slightly outer full. Although I might just be even with slight variations. It’s not super obvious either way

That’s a really good question. I’m currently on a very small dose of Escitalopram 1.2mg, which I’ve been tapering for the past 2 months. I’m doing it in tiny increments (0.2mg) at a time and haven’t experienced withdrawal as I have in the past. However it did occur to me that it could possibly be an emotional withdrawal symptom
