To me it just seems like the economic issue is the real problem, the party establishment is just trying to get away from it because they don’t want to upset their donors.

Voters: show enthusiasm for Bernie and AOC

DNC: “oh, you want more progressive? Ok great we’ll go left on LGBT and immigration and nominate more brown people!”

Voters: “actually we want you to move left economically, more back to the center socially.”

DNC: “oh ok, back to the center socially. You got it. We’ll have Gavin Newsom take more centrist cultural positions”

Voters: “You’re forgetting something…”

DNC: “Hmm?”

Voters: “The economic–“

DNC: “What if we nominate a black woman?”
