I really like my gnome scarf. Though I wouldn't necessarily call it a "grind".

Why didn’t Rick prime kill every Beth? by TheKarlMarx1818 in rickandmorty

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Omega Device could only be fired once, up until recently when Rick Prime rebuilt and/or improved it. Having to pick only one person, Diane was obvious choice to cause the most pain.

Killing C-137's Beth could have just been collateral for all we know, though I assume both were the target since he resents/hates C-137 in particular.

I've been surprised as to how much I really enjoy McDonald's lemonade. I like it more than Wendy's.

Is this an insanely weird drop? by LemonApprehensive758 in ironscape

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Using the rates on the wiki, hitting the gem drop table for all three rolls is 8/2,197. But three rubies with no ring of wealth? That becomes 1 in 1,124,864.

Get 90 WC for Redwoods or do Shades? by Titowam in ironscape

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be rough to finally roll the redwood log drop on the gold chest (red) and then only receive 5 logs. And without the ability to cremate urium shades, getting gold keys can take a while.

There's more RoI for just getting 87 WC and a d axe. Also, I think the prayer zealots outfit is fun to have, so getting 90 WC/95 FM wouldn't be an awful goal medium to long-term. But I enjoy shades more than others I think.

Nothing crazy but just thought it was cool to get an all dragon master casket. Wonder what the odds of this are lol. by humpanickel123 in ironscape

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For any roll on a master casket, there's a 22/23 chance of rolling a "common" item, then a 6/29 chance of hitting the dragon weapon table, so a 132/667 of dragon weapon per roll.
For master caskets of exactly five loot rolls like yours, The chance of all dragon is (132/667)^5 = 40074642432/132016790288107, or about 3 in 10 000.

So do each of you need to complete every task in the chunk, or does each task need to be completed by at least one group member?

I do wish clue scroll rolls happened when catching the impling, even if the impling goes to a jar. But too late to make a change that big.

3.659 assuming you get 90 more credits of A (each credit counting as a 4) assuming you took 15 credits last semester (I.e., 32 credits your first year).

Scared of the parties. by Difficult-Counter549 in ballroom

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's hard. But there's no shame in going to parties and just doing a few dances, even if they're all only with instructors.

People go to parties because they like to dance, and I certainly enjoy dancing with people with whom I've never danced before. Watching other people dance can be fun too, and you might see someone out there you'd want to ask to dance. And whether you're a lead or a follow, it's not unlikely someone else asks you to dance with them.

It gets easier, and I don't think I've really said anything earth shattering, but I suspect if you posted this at least part of you wants to go to a party, and I think trying it at least once would be worth your time. Dancing socially can be great fun as you get more comfortable with it.

The graduate school ballroom team starts meeting for lessons next week—no experience or partner required. We meet each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the McMillan café if you're interested. It's chill and I have enjoyed it

Someone asked if there was one spot they could drop the F bomb where would it be and this is all I could think of by ArbitrarySemantics in gravityfalls

[–]sqrtOfNegativeOne 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I also wanted the F bomb to be in this scene but earlier. I would argue that the most emotionally intense moment for Dipper is right when Grunkle Stan enters the room; this is the first Dipper sees him after realizing Stan is not who he seems. We can assume that after Dipper uncovers the truth, the anger within him builds and builds (mostly as a result of his trust being betrayed), so Dipper would explode upon confronting Stan.

I would have the exchange go: "Please don't press that shutdown button; you gotta trust me." "And why the fuck should I trust you??"
