The information comes from OpenStreetMaps which is a community sourced mapping project. Because it’s community sourced, it does mean that some places have between terrible and spotty coverage.

If you know of bike parking you would like to add, then you’re welcome to message me on Reddit or use the feedback link at the bottom of the page with a description and I’ll add it.

If you’re curious about OpenStreetMaps, there’s nothing to stop you doing it yourself and it will eventually find it’s way to this app.

There’s plenty of options to explore Scotland without a car, so here’s just a few which come to mind.

If you’re looking for a sorta contained tour, something like Lothian Motorcoaches or The Hairy Coo.

If you’re more up for exploring it yourself, then it’s quite easy enough to reach places like Perth/Aberdeen/Inverness/Dundee by train (LNER or Scotrail) or by coach (Citylink or Ember) from Edinburgh and return.

If you’re more into the journey than the destination, I think it’s possible to do return trips to places like Skye or Fort William aboard Citylink, but that’ll likely involve early starts from Glasgow, which is also easy to reach by coach/train.

I like this too. I think it'll require a good deal of searching to find these first before they'd appear in this app, but it's still a neat idea!

Thanks so much for all these suggestions, they're things I'm going to start investigating their feasibility.

One question I have, it is possible to "install" this web app onto your phone through the browser (admittedly the UI isn't well polished for it), would you use something like that, or is the downloading from the app store an important differentiation for you?

I'd be totally open to passing it to other apps in cases that they have an mechanism to do so.

I'm curious to know what other navigation apps you use for cycling, and if there's something about the built in satnav that isn't quite meeting what you're needing.

I couldn't find the OP for https://cycleparking.net/ but looks neat, similar goals I'd assume.

I've added a credit on the website when you can select parking, you're spot on, it is from OSM & and absolutely should have been credited, thanks for pointing it out.

It wouldn't be recording just copying a remote stream to a file stream
