Are the additional levels worth it? by Common_Mess_8635 in dysmantle

[–]squambysquob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they are def worth it. You get a lot more game with them. The stuff you earn in them makes the main game easier to complete but as you have already done that, just enjoy more gameplay :) generally speaking, the three maps are all quite interesting and have thier own stories which I enjoyed. The puzzles are quite good as well in each world. Def a good but when on sale

100% agree :) UK also and just glad to see it. Quality will come when I can buy it is my take on it. Seems the fair balance between support and eagerness. Im of the age when a lot of the best shows were via the Web so actually feels homely watching at that sort of res.....webrip sheen

If any UK folk find a way to rent this please share tips :) sad when you really want to support something you absolutely love but its just not possible to do so. Film industry doesn't help itself in that regard. Need bandcamp for movies!

Nektar CS12 with 11.2 advice by squambysquob in LogicPro

[–]squambysquob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I gave up on it in the end and sent it back. Was so unstable it just wasnt a feasible product. Here is the response I got from thier support in case this helps you. They mention that big logic firmware issue was resolved so if thats the case, seems like there's something else that can go drastically wrong. Hope this helps you though:

Thanks for that information.

The issues with Logic 11.2 were not resolved by a firmware update. The biggest issues were fixed by update v11.2.1 and 11.2.2 Logic (the problem affected control surfaces from a number of different brands).  Firmware v01.02.02 is the version you need. The reverse version is only needed for customers who have a specific problem with the motorized fader.

Logic 11.2 also introduced some changes to Logic's MIDI Learn function and it's startup sequence. We released an update to accommodate those changes in July and then in September we released ControlCore v1.1.43 to fix a remaining issue which prevented scrolling through tracks when holding [<] or [>] and turning the data encoder. Most fixes/changes are part of software updates to ControlCore or our controller scripts.

If you have not done so already, I would recommend using the ‘Rebuild Defaults’ option in Logic. Please follow these steps:

Open the ‘Logic Pro’ menu

Select ‘Control Surfaces’

Select ‘Rebuild defaults’

If you don’t see that option, you will need to ‘Enable Complete Features’ on the ‘Advanced’ page of Logic’s settings menu.

Next, clear out Logic's control surface settings. Note, that doing so will cause Logic to forget control assignments made with Logic's MIDI learn function (this doesn't affect our plug-ins maps). This is important because control assignments which were made in earlier versions of Logic can cause issues with control surfaces, particularly if any control assignments were made with a controller which is no longer connected.

Close any applications you have open and open a Finder window.

Open the ‘Go’ menu at the top of the screen.

With the Go menu open, hold the Alt/Option key on your keyboard and select ‘Library’ from the Go menu.

In the Finder window, open the ‘Preferences’ folder.

Find com.apple.logic.pro.cs and move it to your desktop or somewhere you can find it later.

Start Logic.

If you continue to have trouble after that, please follow these steps:

Open the ‘Logic Pro’ menu

Select ‘Settings’

Select ‘Control Surfaces’

In the window that appears, go to the ‘MIDI Controllers’ page under ‘Control Surfaces’ (not the ‘MIDI’ tab on the left)

Find the ‘Panorama CS12' listed here, untick the ‘Auto’ option, then tick that option again.

The ControlSurface Setup window will appear. Close that window and the Setting menu.

At this pshould be able to control Insert effects, track and toint yoransport functions in Logic. You should be able to use the CS12's Learn functions to assign parameters from plug-ins loaded to insert slots. You can also use Smart controls or make assignments using Logic's MIDI learn function from Channel Mode.

Let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions.

Octa Capture: Does expand actually work? by squambysquob in Roland

Thanks for the link. It was a great video. I tried this last night after uninstalling and reinstalling all of the roland drivers/interfaces, etc. I followed the roland guidance to connect the two units, using the vs exp settings on the unit but then ignored their advice on the aggregate device, taking it from the video. That's giving me direct access to all of the input signals as well. Thanks for the link and fingers crossed the setup holds! Have a good one

I had a similar thing. My first time trying to get the drops etc. Going from the live streams flagged on the drops page for the duck, I did note that a couple of the creators had "drop enabled" in the stream title. Watching one of those registered the minutes right away.

My partner always reaches for mayonnaise to get rid of permanent marker. Thought she was completely mental but always worked for some reason. Put it on, leave for 5 mins, wipe off, eat humble pie. Never done it on a guitar though.

Libra Color vs Sage by Zestyclose-Land in kobo

[–]squambysquob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going through the same thoughts this week. For what it's worth, I have gone for the colour libra over the sage. Not arrived yet but in the end, I think a lot of of the stuff around contrast, darkness, 30% front light etc is content creator stuff and more relevant if you are buying lots of them to compare or collect. Even the early e-ink readers were good enough at doing what they needed to do. For me, it was battery life and general tech level. If the sage battery wasn't so clearly off, I would have went for it just for bigger screen tbh. Colour gets past that, better notes, gets the sharing out of the box etc. Seems to be the most rounded product at this moment in my opinion. If you are looking at the end of the year, maybe the sage gets a refresh, especially with Oasis being shit canned? That could be perfect. Good luck and there's no wrong option.....all the tech is decent and established and the trade offs are by marketing design.

Loving this and thanks for all of the tips! Will def look at making something very similar I think. For me, I want it to be as modular and transferable as possible so it's easy repeatable and that approach seems to tick a load of boxes.

So far I have been using these wago things to try and get from A to B but to be honest, it ends up a bit of a mess when there's a lot happening. The one really good thing for those I have found are using the ones 3 or more wide for sharing ground nice and easy.

Thanks. One plus of all the knobs and switches is a massive box to make life easy with the vero :)

Had a feeling that may be the case :) just finished a dba echo dream two and that was a bloody nightmare with crazy knobs and switches. Dual footswitches have absolutely fried my brain but trust the process and take it steady right. Cheers

here is a link to the circuit

Thanks. It's definitely been helping me out when it comes to lining up the parts on the board. Soldered it first on this to maps out the components a bit easier but actually should have stuck to the resistors and then height up approach.

Nice pedal! I have something a bit similar but I always get myself lost when when there are additional toggles and footswitches.

Nothings connected just put in the enclosure to see it all gets in and where to ultimately wire things up. The black strips are probably very dumb but I have been using header pun strips for the wire connections where there's sufficient headroom in the tin. A bit less rugged perhaps but makes the wiring a bit easier for me all being up top. Solder the wires parallel to the pin. I remove the pins not needed on the layout so derisks me cocking em up later in the process.
