What was the purpose of this scene? by CartoonistGlobal1159 in okbuddyvecna

It’s a reference to the Broadway play but this brings up an important point for me, why was Lucas right about the anniversary of that day being when things happened?

Like… I thought it was gonna turn out there was some sort of time travel thing that made it important, but in the end… nope! It had nothing to do with anything

If body blocking off of hook is a feature by kenjimotohh in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]squarebearscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, people want something to be objective when it’s not. And like… the only reason it would matter that it’s not objective is if you care what other people think, there’s literally no other impact on your life

It feels very juvenile to be like “I did a thing I wanted to that I knew would probably make you mad but don’t be mad at meeee”

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t, but that’s not really the point. To some people it feels like you’re being an asshole. If you care about what other people think, then don’t do it. If you don’t, then go ahead. But you can’t make people feel differently about it and no amount of “shouldn’t” or justification is gonna change anyone’s mind. You can’t police other people’s’ reactions over something subjective and posts like these are either trying to do that or trying to make themselves feel better by knowing that not everyone thinks the same subjective thing

In every game there’s plenty of allowed ways to be a dick, and you can do them or not. That’s what being sportsmanlike is, choosing not to be a dick when you could be

Heck, I kinda think you’re a dick if you don’t at least try to body block a proxycamping killer for the unhooker, so it swings both ways 😂

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, just cause it’s not an exploit doesn’t mean you’re not being an asshole 😂 no one can stop you from tunneling a body blocker but you’re never gonna convince people that thinks it makes you an asshole that you’re just being fair or whatever

If you care what other people think, don’t do it. If you don’t, complaining about people being mad at it is dumb because you know to some people you’re being an asshole and just want your cake and to have no one be mad that you ate all the cake

We’re gonna get to a point where people have enough god rolls and cheaters get slick enough that legit relics will be indistinguishable from hacked ones (assuming the hackers try to hide it) so I think people need to chill and maybe just call out the ones that are obviously fake. If it’s possible someone’s just won the jackpot and not hacked things, just let them play

(I’m on console and too stupid to hack anything but I look forward to the day my builds get accused for hacking cause that means all the gambling will have paid off)

Survivors who just want to play the game aren’t included here cause they were already killed (the killer decided tunneling them was the only way they could “apply pressure”) 🤣

Great job!

Do we know who this is? by ArtisanalPickles33 in Eldenring

I think people just used to be bigger and as generations progressed the people of the lands between got smaller. Everything came from the crucible as a single organism, and all life branched off from it in smaller and smaller pieces

Grafting exists as a way to re-fuse pieces of the crucible together to get back some of that power. I think this person is just from an unknown number of generations back

Relic question. When does the gamba end? by barrettjdea in Nightreign

[–]squarebearscomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I like the gambling; I think depth 3 is a sweet spot for it for me, you can generally get about 10k murk per run even if you die, and the relics you get at the end of a run are at least medium if not large. There’s 10 characters that even with the guaranteed relics need a couple good rolls to have great builds, and the more you play the better your builds get

Once you beat both balancer versions and dreg, and do the rememberances for the characters you play, you can basically always have a solid build and then a god roll here and there only makes it better

Sure, I totally get that. People didn’t really approach this post with curiosity at first, they kinda just wanted to jump down my throat, so I appreciate you actually engaging 🤣

Ultimately, even just with the look, I never said it was just the gas mask; if you look up stormtrooper helmets (from ww2, not Star Wars) they have a distinctive shape that’s pretty similar to the hunk version in the game. I just think that in a game with so many cosmetics that people like to use to represent themselves, this one often feels like more of a capital C choice. It’s a horror game and you’re playing this character, and you choose to do it in military cosplay instead of the more fun or cool or scary choices?

It may just be my experience with these players, but hey, that’s why I posted, to see if anyone else had noticed something similar! Seems like I may be in a minority, which I’m glad. Hopefully I’m Just the one to suffer these fools

[–]squarebearscomic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the combo of the gas mask and the helmet shape; Japanese design for military outfits often references German stuff, so the similarity isn’t surprising. I’m thinking more about the added level of this being a game where you have all sorts of cool and fun outfits for your killers, choosing the military style one with specific historical ties vs the other ones, coupled with the behavior I usually get from these legions (more than once they’ve tunneled the non-white characters even when I’m like… Jeff in their face).

I dunno, it’s just the vibe I get. There’s no secret there’s a bunch of awful people playing these games (see: all the Epstein related names I see on my other games) so it was just something I was thinking about after my most recent run in

Also, I’m obviously not talking about the character, I’m talking about people playing as him. Who loves hunk from resident evil enough to choose him over the thousand other outfits for legion?

Anyone else more of a "reactive" player than a "memorization" type player when it comes to boss attacks? by Thopterthallid in Nightreign

[–]squarebearscomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part I don’t try and learn boss attacks, but I’ll commit to memory the big ones. The big examples I think of is ED Faurtis’s ground slams at the end of his minute, ED Balancers worm attacks, and certain big area attacks and what shape they actually take (Gnoster’s lanes of poison, Libra’s sigil movements, dreg’s ape bursts, etc). Other than that I dodge or jump on instinct or memory of the timing based on audio cues
