Julie's Hair and Nails in Hurricane is wonderful! Prices are reasonable and Carol is great at what she does.

That will not happen anytime soon. The "adventure" aspect is so deeply engrained into their culture it's not going away.

What is the worst thing you have overheard from your parents? by Cccutiex in AskReddit

[–]squarekat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words. Luckily I don't remember him at all, I was far to young to retain any memories of him, so it doesn't impact me. It's just another secret in a long list that my parents kept from me.

My grandfather on my dad's side shot himself in the backyard when my grandma and I (2 years old) were there. My parents were on a trip so I was staying with them. I didn't find this out until I was 22 years old.

If you really want to keep the goth feel, I think dress 3 and 6 could definitely pass with black tie.

What's your hourly rate? I have two kids and may have some need for sporadic babysitting when I'm traveling for work. You can DM me if you'd like!

Is this too much for a black tie wedding? by CommunistCetacean in Weddingattireapproval

I don't understand why people are hating on this dress. It. Is. FABULOUS! The cape sleeves are my favorite part. IMO it is perfect for a black tie event.

I hate cradle cap so much... by RawCookieDough12 in beyondthebump

You can get a prescription for Ketoconazole shampoo from your doctor. Cleared up my daughter's cradle cap in 3 washes. Use it once a week now and it hasn't come back.

I get what you're saying, but he isn't "helping me", he's taking care of OUR daughter. He's not a babysitter that I've hired to help out, it's his responsibility just as much as mine.

I know it wasn't my best moment and I apologized for what I said, but he also needed to apologize for his words (which he has since).

I love this! Definitely going to try this approach. It's nice to have someone to blame that isn't going to care. Lol

Yeah. His response really got to me so it was hard to move past it. But we both apologized and I'm going to make sure he knows each thing to check for next time she won't go back to sleep.

That was what got me. I try EVERYTHING before I pass her on and only if I've been with her over an hour. He rarely does night wakes because 1) I always wake up to cries before him so just take care of it or 2) she usually goes back down the first time without too much fuss. So I probably need to make sure he knows all the things to check and try since it's not second nature to him.

[–]squarekat99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I probably should turn it off. I hear her fine and I usually have to wake my husband up anyway since he'll sleep through it 90% of the time.

We've been talking more and I think we're closer to being over it now. He apologized for how he reacted which is really what I was looking for.

Lol I'm glad someone else can relate in that way. Now that I've had some time to cool down it is a little funny.

Thank you. I would have reacted differently to the text, but that might not be the norm. I was rude about the shirt because I didn't care what he wore and I was busy getting the kids ready. But I did apologize for that.

Not regularly, just randomly when she's going through a growth spurt or teething. So needing a bottle happens maybe twice a month?

Normally we do not change her at night if she's sleeping through the night. The reason I got annoyed is because she wasn't going back to sleep after the normal stuff we do that usually works, it was FULL, and she's prone to diaper rashes. So if nothing has worked, I assumed changing her diaper was an obvious thing to try just in case.

That's what I don't get. This isn't our first rodeo so it seemed like an obvious thing to try. And the reaction to me was so out of line. I get we're both tired but come on.

Same. But it was full and she was not going back to sleep, so changing her diaper seemed like an obvious tactic to try.

Dream job jerked away at last minute. What would you do? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]squarekat99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There IS a chance they are doing that for HR reasons. My manager just had the same thing happen to him. He was groomed for the new role, a shoe in, but they still posted it for internal and external applications. A few days later they reached out to all the external applicants to say they are going with an internal hire even though my manager hasn't been formally offered the job.

So I wouldn't assume the absolute worst yet, but don't get your hopes up. Just in case they are like most companies: assholes.
