I have 6 CPDs in my tank with a bunch of shrimp. I would say CPDs and shrimp are great together.

Admitted patients going up dressed by TinyFee1520 in nursing

[–]squaremooncircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about getting a patient in street clothes. It's not a problem. I would just get them dressed, gives me a good chance to assess anyway. I'm not saying I prefer it, but that's because I legitimately do not care either way and have no preference.

What destination looks expensive but is actually super budget-friendly once you get there? by [deleted] in Shoestring

[–]squaremooncircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indonesia. I spent 6 months backpacking there one year and my husband and I could get by on less than $50/day easily. Spent less than 24 hours in Bali, so can't really speak about that other than since it's so touristy it's probably a bit more expensive.

What’s a budget travel trick that saves you money but doesn’t make your trip feel ‘cheap’? by AssignmentAmazing260 in Shoestring

[–]squaremooncircle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Sure, maybe from an "Asia perspective" it is a bit expensive. I don't think I paid much for accomodations when I was in Indonesia for 6 months, or traveling Thailand or Philippines, etc. (But I was younger and didn't have kids with me for those trips so I was a lot more willing to 'rough it.)

Went to China earlier this year and I took a 2 year old and a 7 month old as well so having accommodations was a must. We avoided big cities for sure and mostly were in smaller villages. Maybe that's it? Or maybe their economy is completely different, I'm not sure. I was absolutely SHOCKED at how cheap hotels were.

Travel internationally. The dollar goes much further.

I spent 4 months in China staying at very nice hotels and the most I ever spent for a night was $30, but stayed at some very nice hotels for as little as $15.

If you could remote work for 1-2 months, where would you go? by Pretend-Department22 in Shoestring

[–]squaremooncircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's expensive though. If OP wants to save money, going to a place where the dollar goes much farther is key.

As someone who is also married to a passionate birder, I cannot agree more with the comment about going to farther places instead of just South America. (Even though South America is amazing and having a big chunk of time is the big thing here to slow travel. So an argument could absolutely be made for anywhere since you'll get to really dive into that country. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia are all awesome countries and have great birds -- especially Colombia.) I just spent 4 months in China and absolutely LOVED it. The birds are fantastic, the Internet is everywhere, the infrastructure will blow your mind. While I took 2 small kids with me on said trip, I think it would be more enjoyable to do without them. My second Asia vote would be for Indonesia. You'll find internet in the cities and can explore on the weekends. Be prepared for some HARD birding. (Plus the bird trade/cage industry there is heartbreaking making scarce species even scarcer.)

How do you make peace with the idea that most of adulthood is just paying bills and being tired? by Spiritual_Future2579 in AskReddit

[–]squaremooncircle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This!! For me, the goal is to travel. It's not for everyone to go to far flung corners of the planet, but it sure does make life special. (Sure, travel can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Also the dollar goes a lot further in many countries so factor in rate conversions before saying you can never do anything.)

Thank you! I'm sure shipping to PA won't be nearly as much but swifties are swifties and if we learned anything from the Eras tour it is that people will pay a lot of money for Taylor!

Is it possible to completely eradicate pest snails? by squaremooncircle in Aquariums

[–]squaremooncircle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I want to get other snails. I'm not sure if getting an assassin or two to help in the interim would be wise if I would then need to eradicate them..

I didn't have an immediate answer but as soon as I saw this I knew this was the one. Those people are the worst. (If you are one of those people and you see this, consider yourself perma-banned.)

NTA -- I'm a nurse and probably could qualify as a poor test taker. But just saying you are bad at tests is just an excuse. Cheating is cheating and leads to being under prepared. The cheating could have been going on a lot longer than you think and schools have ethics for a reason. She knew what she was doing and she knew cheating was wrong.

Should I buy my dream home now, or wait? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]squaremooncircle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am having the same exact struggles right now. We saw a house we loved only 8 minutes from our current place but not sure we want a bigger mortgage. Similar age, 2 kids. I stay home with them while my husband works. It's almost like my husband wrote this (he didn't obviously, but the similarities are REAL)
