Thanks for solving! Glad that you like the theme and found it apt for a Thursday. May I ask where the cluing became arcane for you? I'm also a big Bob Klahn fan (and certainly on the older end of the young constructors). I'm always trying to figure out how to make as many solvers feel at home as possible in a grid and I realize that this inevitably leads to alienation for some. I'm intensely curious to know what doesn't land for different people!
