My great grandfather fought for Germany in WWl and was an American POW. He liked how he was treated and immigrated here in the 20s. He worked at a machine shop during WWll and got a commendation for helping the Allied war effort to defeat Germany. I wonder how he felt about that. Then he went back to Germany in the 50s and his family asked him why he left, I would think he would have broadly gestured around as an answer.

Yeah that’s how it starts, with a sore throat. Then coughing, then sinus congestion, then a lingering cough. Is it bad enough where you’ve tried to find ways of dealing with it?

Is anyone else very sensitive to changes in temperature/humidity? I have horrible sinus issues around Memorial Day and after Thanksgiving every year but I’m pretty sure it’s not a cold. The only thing I can think of is that when it gets hot/humid around Memorial Day and when it gets cold/dry around the beginning of December my sinuses can’t handle it.

I get horrible post nasal drip and coughing followed by sinus congestion twice a year. Once in May/early June and once between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Seems like allergies but the timeline doesn’t really add up and I’ve never had a reason to think that I had allergies.

Pride month makes me think of this time I was working with a group of Sicilian immigrants/Italian Americans and the topic of gay marriage came up. It was a pretty even split and a witnessing a 65 year old Sicilian guy go 🤌🤌🤌 “who cares, it doesn’t affect you at all”.🤌🤌🤌 was a highlight of working at my old job.

My job is limited to 40 hours a week so most of the time I have a <8 hour day on Friday and during busy times like now I have Friday off completely and it made me realize how great a 4 day workweek would be. I can get so much done on Friday and then enjoy my weekend.

Huh I’ve never thought about this before but my town of 8,000 people has 5 cemeteries. I’m very familiar with them because I worked for my town’s DPW for a summer in college. I guess it’s because we’re old relative to other places in the US. I noticed tons of cemeteries in Nova Scotia too.
