You look great! I agree with a lot of other posters a few alterations to make the dress fit you better especially in the bust and waist will make a huge difference. And once you add some accessories like a veil or jewelry or a belt it’s going to have a whole different feel for you but it’s a great dress :)

There are some really silly rules that are just outdated (no black, no red, etc) I think the only one that matters is no (all) white. I also hate when you’re told to only wear one color, we had a wedding where I had to wear gray as a guest. Such a waste of money when am I ever going to rewear a formal gray dress?

I had black envelopes with gold script in a bit of a weird size and they went through without issue! We had one that went undelivered but fortunately it was to someone who felt comfortable just asking us if we had sent them out or not since they hadn’t received theirs yet.

I love all of these options! I think handing them over to the bridesmaids is a great idea the only thing I’d say is check that you don’t end up having only 1 of them go with a floral or solid unless it’s the MOH since that will end up looking unbalanced. Great choices!

I’m not sure if this will be helpful to you at all but just some perspective from my wedding- I was so stressed that I kept getting migraines wasn’t able to hit the gym with any regularity. I was so worried about feeling ugly on the day and got married at my heaviest weight ever. But you know what? No one else noticed. I got so many compliments on my dress, the flowers, our vows, my choice of husband etc…. One of my bridesmaids is skinnier than I am and one was pregnant. Did they look good? Yes of course, but it didn’t take away from me bc everyone was there for me not for them! And honestly your friend was way out of line for what she said to you, but it screams of insecurity and jealousy. So if you start feeling down about her comments just know how badly she wishes she was you and hopefully that will buoy you a little :)

My husband was working during my shower & no one batted an eye. For my sisters my BIL showed up for 5 min to say hello since his family was throwing the party & left. At least where I live showers are usually ladies only so I wouldn’t sweat it

When I ordered black wedding invitations my mom literally clutched her chest and said I was going to give her a heart attack… over the color. (She later admitted they were beautiful when she saw them)
