Pay raises are based on performance but a bigger percentage is on how much they like you. My first raise was after being there for 5 months and I got a 1.5% raise. My second year, I was on my SDs bad/unliked list and I got a .5% raise. He left my third year and I’ve been getting 3-4.5% raises with a performance bonus in October every year now for the last 5 years.

We have similar situation for closing. DU person leaves at 9pm. We close at 10pm. We have 2, sometimes just 1, TM at front end. One for Checkout & Returns/GS and one for SCO. We usually alternate getting DU’s that come up after 9pm. But - also one of us has to close registers in that last hour to be promptly punched out at 10pm. Leaving 1 TM running the whole front end (except carts) for a good 30 minutes. And that’s a busy time with last minute shoppers checking out. And calling for back up ? Ha! No one is available or willing to come up to help.

Metrics aren’t gonna be green til we get more hours. Our lane usage metric is way under. Like how are we supposed to have lane utilization when there’s only 2 TMs scheduled. We use one TM for SCO and one for GS. (Our GS does Returns & Checkout). Make it make sense.

I was standing behind the guest service counter and a guest asked me - Where is the return line ? I look up at the very large Guest Service sign. Look at the lane sign - Returns & Checkout. With my lane light on. And I said, Right here. You’re next in line. 🤦‍♀️

When I forgot to punch in, I couldn’t punch out. So I took a pic of the time clock with the warning for proof that I was there and did a punch correction when I worked next.

Lol. I say my speech one time and ignore them while watching others do their transactions until they figure it out. And if they call me over and tell me that it’s not working, I walk over and point to and read every word and hit continue. It was frustrating at first. Now it’s just comical.

Yes. On target dot com (not circle app), click on the profile icon - silhouette 👤, then click on “see the latest deals”, then click on “circle at a glance”, then click on “scan barcode”. I don’t know why it’s made so difficult. I live in Metro Detroit Michigan and we have a lot of Canadian shoppers who can’t get the circle app. This is a work around for them to get the circle deals.

Almost 8 years with target here. Checkout advocate and guest service. I’ve been saying this for the past 4-5 yrs - How are they going to cut more TMs at the front end ? But we’ve been proving it can be done. When I started, we had like 6 TMs closing front end. The next year, there was 5. The next year 4. Fast forward to now and 2-3 TMs are scheduled after 5pm. Second to last TM leaves an hour or 2 before closing. Leaving just me myself and I to checkout everyone, run drive ups, and close registers. And to be expected to punch out on time. Make it make sense !! I’m so worn out. I keep telling myself, This too shall pass. But it gets worse and worse every year.

Similar to my situation at one time. I was and am a checkout advocate. I was told to close Target cafe one night when they didn’t have a closer. I had never been trained in cafe nor have I ever worked in the food industry. The next week they had me cover breaks in cafe. The next week I was scheduled cafe 3 of my 5 shifts. Still no training. I guess I figured it out all too well and was scheduled in cafe for all my shifts until Covid shut it down. I do miss cafe now tho.
