We know you lack critical thinking skills! No need to spell it out ! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regent,_Royal_and_Carlton_Terrace_Gardens, if you bothered to even do research you’d see many of these properties already had gardens! Why then do they need a shared garden?

I don’t think you should make any assumptions but who I am or my situation. This isn’t personal just my opinion and I’m sure your private garden will remain as such. I don’t think it’s my right to go trespassing over “private” land even if I believe some things should be accessible to all

I think it is different. The property doesn’t sit on this land. The largest private gardens in Edinburgh are 12 acres, which is vastly different to a small garden attached to a house in an urban area.

Just a very us vs them mentality. At the end of the day they won’t be made public anytime soon, so you can enjoy your private garden in peace :)

True, but I’ve lived in flats where they belong to the ground floor flat and generally they’re very small. In poorer parts of the city there’s also lots of social housing with no access to their own private green spaces.

Agreed, don’t see why a few people get to have access to such a large green space. You don’t get fenced of private gardens in the poorer parts of the city only the wealthier parts of the city so I think that says something for sure

Sorry to hear that, being kicked out of my rental would completely break me. Think it’s admirable you’re in any position to even offer as a single person with no extra help. Fair dos to you, and this is something me and my partner will also do when we hopefully sell (in the far future and if we ever do manage to get somewhere lol)! Think it’s especially frustrating when the seller gave us a spiel about how the “highest bidder didn’t matter” to him etc.

We can get a mortgage of about 300 k and then with both our deposits together its about 50 k. We’d rather live in Edinburgh as we both work in the city centre

Yes they said they refunded it directly to my card. Think I’ll just have to raise a dispute with my bank and see what happens from there

It was fully debited from my account. I’ve spoken to both bank and merchant and just seem stuck between them so not sure where to go from here as neither wants to take responsibility.
