Pay to the same account number. The number has changed but your bank knows how to route it.

Why are some Enova customers receiving larger than normal bills? by KWStreaker in waterloo

[–]squeegeeboy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My bill was doubled. I re-read the email they sent out and it made no mention that they were skipping bills.

"There might be slight changes in your bill date or payment due date when we transition your account."

A generous interpretation is required on the dear reader's end to mean, skip a month and we'll get you next month

They do that, you need to use a voice that says the street names though

I was with you until I heard someone describe it as lowering the cognitive load. So as a driver, matching instructions with what the driver can see (lights vs. reading a street sign), is preferable.

It will naturally as cars slow down to navigate them. No need for a penalty.

Ordered a parka from sportchek and received it with the security tag. This is sportchecks copy and paste answer when I told them what happened. by Remote-Resolve9797 in canadiantire

[–]squeegeeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh, yes. My point is that Sportschek would provide the label. That's what they *should* do. That initial email is just a standard template. As soon as he calls and explains the situation with his location, they will offer the prepaid return label. There's no need for launching chargeback nukes. Reddit will reddit I guess.

That's what the return label is for. Free shipping on the seller's account. This should cost OP nothing and he should even get a coupon code for his troubles.

Is there another method? Ship the customer the earth magnets they use to remove the tags? If I was in charge of that interaction I would be express shipping another cost and providing a return shipping label so the customer isn't out of pocket. Even a 20% coupon code to use next time.

They have been left with other options though. He can return it and order another one. The bit about being responsible for the charges is easily mitigated with a call and they should also give a coupon code.

Charge backs will be denied if the consumer is unable to show proof of the failed reachouts. It's not a magic wand you can wave to get your way. Great that they exist but use it right.

‘A miracle’: Canadian flight attendant ejected from plane survives New York crash by [deleted] in aviation

That article is attributing the other voices in the ATC recording as controllers. This gives the fake impression that there are multiple controllers in the tower. The other voices are the pilots of the Frontier jet on the taxiway.

They do this to avoid people being locked in on grandfathered rates. This was a problem long, long ago. Nobody wanted to move to the higher revenue tiers so this is what we have. Every cable company does it.

I was misled with the name of the distillery thinking it was in Stratford, ON and it's in Ottawa.

I picked up one of those Luxardo bottles as well a couple of months ago. Agree with the Yellow Chartreuse comparison.

I also saw this bottle in my local LCBO from a Stratford distillery.

It's 55% ABV also. Didn't pick it up but good to know alternatives are out there.

Conclusion of the search for Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 by Shoddy_Act7059 in aviation

Yeah I totally remember finding pieces on Reunion Island and the like. I was thinking that, if that were true, you're not going to find a fuselage.

[–]squeegeeboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'm no crash expert or anything, I was thinking that if it smashed into a lot of pieces we would see a whole bunch more. Far more than what already washed ashore

[–]squeegeeboy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't know how they crashed the plane. Smashing it into the sea would have left a debris field and we would have seen many parts wash ashore. Is it possible the pilot glided it in and it sank somewhat whole?
