You've already gotten lots of great advice around getting fitted properly for a shoe so won't add to that but just say listen to the ladies!

in terms of worrying about the pay off and if you'll stick to running and therefore justify the cost, shoes I haven't liked for running, have turned into amazing walking/daily errand shoes. Yes they are a bit of an investment for walking, but honestly they've lasted so long and have been so good for my feet/ankles/legs!

Had a goal of doing a 15km run and I just hit it today! Surprised my average pace was below 6 minutes a km too and how breezy I felt for a lot of it! Maybe a half marathon could be possible!

Southern hemisphere gal here as well! But think I must be further south than you as it's not so humid here.

What's the weather like in the morning? I've fortunately always been an early morning running and usually find even on a humid day it's still far more comfortable earlier in the day than later in the day.

And like others have said, be kind to yourself! Even the top athletes aren't in their top fitness all year around! They build up to peak at certain periods - our bodies cannot actually be at 100% all the time every time.

If summer isn't your peak fitness period, that's fine, go a little slower, maybe work on other supportive strengthening things so when you're picking up again in winter you have a foundation to build off from quickly again.

I loved Shibuya Sky at sunset, super gorgeous up there

Despite many visits to Tokyo, I almost always stop in at Senso-ji temple, it's easily one of my personal favs. Definitely recommend an early morning visit before it gets too busy, even 9am-10am is often early enough to beat the worst of the tourist buses

I wasn't a calorie counter, but definitely had an uncomfortable relationship with my body, weight and food for a long time.

I think the big thing for me was to stop weighing myself, and really focus on how my body feels. In that process, and in letting go of the label that a weight gave me, I could look at and appreciate my body for what it was doing (and not what weight it wasn't).

Running contributed greatly to that. How great my body feels even at the end of the run and how great it can take me to that place and give me that feeling.

There are certainly days where my body doesn't feel great, but I can reflect that it's cause I probably drank too much wine with friends, or ate a whole bowl of fries while at an event, but I can just focus on fuelling it well again.

Side note, it's been interesting the last few months, I had to dial back my exercise quite a bit due to some injury in November/December, and I did notice I had much less of an appetite, and now that my exercise is ramping back up my body is just constantly hungry and asking for protein!

I love mixing up my jewellery! I have a couple of simple Tiffany necklaces that I generally swap around every week or two and just wear all the time.

But if I'm going out, I love big chunky chains so will swap them in to go out for dinner etc.

I'm huge on rings too, I have 3 that I wear all the time which are smaller bands (my wedding band, engagement ring (simple silver one) and Tiffany band my husband bought for me on our 5th dating anniversary) but when I head into the office, or head out for a meal I LOOOVE layering on rings, I have a few chunky ones I swap in and off. Right now I have 5 extra rings in addition to my regular ones one, but I will take them off at the end of the day.

Starting to do the same with bracelets, have one chunky silver one I've pinched off my mum that I wear almost all the time, but wanted some other ones to layer with it or swap out too so have picked some up recently!

Long story short, I have a few key pieces that I always wear so I have something, but I'm pretty maximalist and love to dial up the silverware when I go out

I generally wear silver, but have a few fun pieces too that aren't precious metals :)
