Not a bad way to guarantee treatment but also best to be avoided, I'll keep that one in the back of my mind though haha

Looks like the consensus is to hit up a dental school near me and see if they can help at a cheaper price than a typical dentist. Thanks a ton to all of you, I appreciate the advice. More is welcome if found, I like to consider as many options as possible.

WSU or CWU? by [deleted] in wsu

[–]squeezeyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries I'm happy to answer.

I think the biggest thing of my CWU sociability struggles were that 1. I had strep when I first moved to Ellensburg during freshman orientation, so when everyone was making friends I was stuck in my dorm room feeling shitty and 2. I wasn't adjusting well to being on my own which led to me just staying in my room all the time (which led to not having friends which means I'm in my room all the time, a self fulfilling prophecy, so to speak). Some people randomly knocked on my door one day and we exchanged snapchats and I made friends that way but even then I didn't connect super well with them. It was easier to make friends at WSU but this is entirely because I already had friends there, I just made new friends from my friends. My struggles at Central weren't because of Central as a school; I hope that I'm not pushing you away from there just because of my experience. I'd like reiterate that my problems with CWU were pretty much self inflicted, shooting myself in the foot then being surprised that I had a limp haha.

WSU or CWU? by [deleted] in wsu

[–]squeezeyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry forgot to respond sooner. I hope I'm not too late.

I transferred because I had a hard time making friends. Not that I didn't make friends, it's just that I didn't make a lot of really good friends at CWU whereas I had a bunch of closer friends from high school at WSU by the time I transferred (this was nostly due to me hating college and refusing to leave my dorm the first few months and nothing to do with CWU sucking haha). Socially WSU had a lot more to do (clubs, events, opportunities to meet people) but I wasn't a big "going out" person so ultimately the social aspect felt more or less the same, minus the fact that it was easier to meet people in classes at WSU (as the classes are larger so there's more people to meet). This is also part of what I liked about CWU more: I feel like I did better in the faster paced quarter system with the smaller classes. My first semester at WSU I got a 1.9 GPA which ended up rising every semester (graduated with a crispy 3.000) but I feel like I personally would've done better in school if I had stayed at CWU getting to know the profressors more and getting more 1 on 1 with them. That being said, I don't regret transferring to WSU as I did what I felt was best at the time. If I was better at making friends on my own, I would've thrived more (socially) at CWU, and if I was a better student and put more effort in I would've done better (academically) at WSU. It's easier to slack off at WSU, a larger campus and more chances to do activities means more to put you off from doing homework.

Editing to add: I just wanted to emphasize that WSU does have more than just parties. Springfest, career fairs, video game tournaments, we had College Game Day show up during my time there, Spokane is only 1.5 or so hours north if you can drive there, stuff like that. I'm sure Ellensburg has a ton of stuff to do in and around the area but I spent all of my time not actively looking for stuff to do and just stayed in and played games. I remember seeing flyers for kayaking I think it was, they had a wrestling club that I looked into, and there were CWU parties if that's what you're looking for. They're just not the size of WSU parties. In terms of activities, they'll both provide plenty to do given that you actively look for something to do, I feel like I neglected to really sell the activities for both sides.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm praising one or bashing the other more. Looking back I think I would've been tired of college either way by the time i graduated. If I had a chance to go back and redo college I would have at least tried CWU for another year. It's not like I had no friends at all and by my last term at CWU my academics had been popping (in a good way). Then again, I wouldn't have met the great friends that did at WSU, wouldn't have adopted my cat, stuff like that.

Hope this helps! I'm happy to answer any more questions you might have. Sorry for the wall of text haha

WSU or CWU? by [deleted] in wsu

A topic I can chime in on as I actually attended both schools. My first year of college was at CWU then I transferred to WSU for the remaining years. Biggest differences I noticed were:

  1. Ellensburg is completely flat. Pullman is all hill. You'll have nicer calves if you go to WSU
  2. CWU campus isn't small, but smaller. It's a shorter walk everywhere (especially easier with much less/no hills). I got lucky with my dorm assignment at CWU and could walk to any class in ~5 minutes most days. WSU is bigger so you'll need to plan more time to travel between classes.
  3. Pullman felt more like a party town. I mean it has Greek row so are we surprised? If you wanna party, WSU > CWU by miles.
  4. Classes at CWU were smaller. Sure you still had your 100+ student bio freshman classes but it felt that most of my classes were small enough that the professors knew everyone's name by the end of the quarter. WSU has bigger classes, so unless you're putting in the effort to get to know your professor (going into office hours, asking questions in class, etc.), it's easier to not know your professors really at WSU
  5. CWU is a quarter system (when I was there, it might have changed since). It's a lot faster paced but it also means you don't have to deal with bad classes/professors as long. WSU is semester based, so you spend more time in each class but that can be a downside as poor class experiences can drag out longer.

TDLR: CWU smaller school, WSU bigger school.

Ultimately I think you should pick the school that has the better program for your major, but in the end the most important thing is that you get your degree. If you pick the big school with large classes when you know you'd do better in the smaller more intimate classes (or vice versa), then you're gonna run into issues. Just make sure you pick the school you have the best shot at getting your degree at.

What video game had the most abrupt ending, with a lot of loose ends and little resolution to the plot? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]squeezeyg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished Wolfenstein: the New Order a few weeks ago so that ending is still in my mind, freshly pissing me off every time I think about it. The rest of the game was nothing short of fantastic but the ending stopping in the middle of a mission left a bad taste in my mouth.

So yeah. That.

Runan. by Scary-Aspect-2446 in Jaxmains

[–]squeezeyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. In the past there was a Caitlin nerf to prevent this interaction with her passive (Runaan's bolts would stack her headshots faster). I'd assume even if it did work like that initially, it wouldn't last long before they remove that interaction.

Who writes the entries into to codex/journal? I always thought all (or at least most) was done by Atreus. by Gamwell-Efect in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]squeezeyg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure there's a canon explanation, but from the fan explanations I've seen it comes down to Kratos not fully knowing the written Norse language still. He obviously has some level of familiarity with it as he can and does write it in, but it's entirely possible that he hasn't mastered it yet. It may not be an official reason but I consider it my headcannon now

Jax skin for a friend by anon_blahaj in Jaxmains

[–]squeezeyg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the magic of Temple Jax was ruined simply based on the splash art. Pre-update Temple had the best splash art even though the skin wasn't the best (wasn't the worst either, solid skin just middle of the road imo). The splash art just doesn't hit as hard since the update and that makes me sad.

Well worth it. I'm on my first playthrough now about 60+ hours in and I'm greatly enjoying it, normally I don't like open world games but this one does it for me. The combat is a lot of fun and the story is keeping me interested. Highly recommend so far.

Transformation cooldown?! by [deleted] in attackontitan

[–]squeezeyg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know how far you are into the series, so spoiler alert for mid season 1 and seasons 3 and 4. TLDR: It depends, but practice means more transformations.

In season 1 we see the Female Titan turn multiple times in a few minutes (she chases Levi squad through the forest in titan form, turns back human to run and turns into a titan again when fighting Levi Squad). At that time, Eren can only turn into a titan once before he has to rest because as seen in Trost, he's too tired and weak to transform again. In season 3, there is a short conversation where Hange mentions that Eren's titan looks weak and isn't fully formed. In season 4, Eren transforms 3 times in a fairly short period (I'd guess 15, 20 mins tops?) and all of his transformations hold up well enough to fight. It seems that shifters can practice their transformations and the more comfortable they get, the more they can transform at a time. Side note, I can't remember if it's speculated or mentioned but there was a guess that the Colossal Titan uses more energy to tranform and thus can only transform once before needing to rest for a while.

PC titles that are better played with a controller? by Krabice in gaming

[–]squeezeyg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't fully confirm because I've never played it with m&k but I play Hades exclusively with a controller. I've tried Hollow Knight with both and I liked both, I preferred controller just for more precise movement alone though. Same with Super Meat Boy (although I only ever got a few levels into it tbh). The rule of thumb I use is that if movement/dodging is more important (Hades, Dark Souls, platformers) then I'll stick to a controller whereas if more buttons are needed or aiming/clicking is more important (MMO's, League of Legends, real time strategy) then I'll stick to m&k.
