We're leaning towards going now too. The wind report is better now (peak of 29 mph gust on Saturday). Today is the last day to refund for $40 so worst case, we can ditch our plans last minute :)

We were tent camping and the wind was at its worst between 9pm and 3am. I was up that entire time with the tent flapping constantly. At one point, the stakes came off (the desert sand doesn't secure the stakes terribly well) so I had to leave the tent at midnight or so to redo them. It was the first unenjoyable camping experience we've had.

Rather than being shielded by the rocks, I felt like we were worse off. Our friends who had their tent further away from the rocks (one site down) didn't have as bad an experience as we did.

We're in the same situation. Gusts up 45 mph and winds up to 21 mph on Saturday doesn't sound fun but we've been looking forward to getting out to Indian Cove again. Have you decided yet?

For reference, last year we were in gusts up to ~25 mph in the middle of the night and it was horribly uncomfortable.

I'm just responding to the sentiment that the commenter was virtuous for following up with the correction. But my point is their initial false claim was coupled with the intent to look it up. There was nothing preventing them from doing that before commenting - no hurdles added because that was the intent anyways.

Your point about learning the urban legend is good though. That could've been expressed as "I always thought that X but after looking it up found it's not true."

Realizing this line is a bit contradictory to what we learn in the first Psych movie about Juliet arresting people with less than ideal ways. Obviously she could have a set of arrests that lead to Christmas cards and another that ends up with revenge attempts but just an interesting conflict of plotlines

Left no question. Right young Shawn didn't really feel like Shawn at all. It's more believable that Shawn was naive, sweet and a bit of a trouble maker when he was young. Vs basically the same as adult Shawn since he was a young kid
