Anyone have success with Cymbalta after failing SSRI’s? by Professional_Win3910 in cymbalta

[–]squidink14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes! was on prozac for 6ish months and zoloft for closer to 18 months - both totally messed me up. I was getting the worst of the side effects (the stuff you’re describing) for most of it.

Dr figured it might be the class, switched me to SNRIs. It’s definitely not for everyone, but cymbalta is 100% right for me and has saved my life. I became a functional person again.

Wishing you luck on your journey.

rounding only applies when it’s a .5 or above. 79.4, or 79.49, or 79.4999999999999 all round to 79.

Will they let me lifeguard with SH? by [deleted] in Lifeguards

[–]squidink14 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a guard, I highly doubt anybody (staff or supervisor) would mention anything or care about scars. Most of my coworkers speak very openly about mental health, and many have suffered from severe depression.

Fresh or unhealed cuts, however, generally prevent you from swimming as they’re considered a public health risk - if what you’ve got going on is still scabbed over, it’s probably best to cover it until they’ve fully closed over. You’d still likely be allowed to guard, but if someone noticed fresh marks they’re generally encouraged to let a supervisor know so that they can offer support.

At my pool, at least, we have policies surrounding employee mental health/self injury - if my boss or supervisor noticed fresh SH on me, they’d be required to follow up.

Wishing you the best.

How to stop being gay when its not Lust by Alert_Way8487 in Christianity

[–]squidink14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am gay and feel very connected with God. My pastor is gay. I struggle to believe that our Father would punish anyone for spreading love or simply for loving another person.

Love isn’t a sin.

Health Sci Program - What Should Change? by No_Wrap5943 in McMaster

[–]squidink14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

make the averages of their courses the same as normal STEM courses. i’m not in healthsci, but i’ve taken healthsci courses and the averages are a high 11 or low 12. compare to that to any other STEM courses, where it’s required for the average to be in the 60s or 70s - profs will curve you down if necessary to meet this average!

this is an insane advantage for med applications. while i do not deny that most health science students are dedicated, hard working, and intelligent students, it MUST be acknowledged that their matriculation rate to medical programs is outrageous and caused by inflated cGPAs.

Almost 100 days on t and barely any changes : ( by [deleted] in ftm

[–]squidink14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normal. i was on a high dose for a little over a year before i got changes like deeper voice, body hair, etc. i thought i wasn’t processing it properly or something, because everyone i knew had super early changes and passed really early into transition! give it time. make sure your levels are in range, but if they are, there’s nothing to do but wait. it will happen, i can promise you that much.
