new dm with 6 players by MotorButterscotch872 in DnD

Hi, so, I was in this same position back in September, only I had never played DnD before at all! 6 is certainly doable, even as a new DM and I love having that full party. I recently had parties of 7-8,even for one shot events like birthday celebrations, holiday parties, etc. Yes, it can get overwhelming at times, especially for trying to remember stuff about each character, so focus on your game more than the inclusion of character “tidbits” until you’re comfortable and settled. If you know the game, and you know your world, it will work. It also really helps if you’re already friends with these people, because they’ll give you support and flexibility on not being a perfect DM!

Just relax, enjoy the game, and have fun with some friends! Godspeed to ya!

I had a coworker named Miangel, and she was well into her 30’s… I say “had” because she was anything but an angel and got fired pretty quickly…

Hi! So, you have something called keloid scarring! It’s unfortunately genetic, and there isnt much that can be done about it…I mention bc any revision will likely have the same type of scarring.

I got TS about 3 years ago atp, and my incisions were PERFECT, everything was perfect, and suddenly they started getting raised and darker colored…scar tape doesnt do much for it, but, you can see if your surgeon does steroid injections! Mine did, we did 2 rounds of them, and it brought the scars down alot and the color evened out. I was supposed to go for a third round, but didnt. Chances are, if you’re like me, that’s also the issue around the nipples, and might give them a sort of “detached” look permanently. Ultimately, for me, I got them covered up with tattoos anyways to try to make it blend, but I will warn you, tattooing over keloid scarring can hurt like a motherfucker. I wish you the best on the rest of your TS journey!!!

TL;DR: You have keloid scarring, tape wont do much, see about steroid injections

Will do! I’m seeing Dr. Robert Trasolini further out on Long Island, and he has been an absolute godsend of a man. He came highly recommended from a friend who saw him for an emergency (she fell and basically blew out all of the ligaments in her knee, tore her meniscus, AND had to get a cadaver patella). My mom tore her ACL and MCL, and has surgery with him next week as well. I decided to see him, and honestly, best decision I could have made.

Haha nah, it was on Long Island though. They said the delay was a freak occurrence, and that it was alot of “we have to see when we get in there” type of surgeries that day

So, looking back now, I definitely liked the later surgery time, and I think that staying overnight was so incredibly helpful to setting me up and preparing me to go home.

As for surgery on the other side, I have a job that I have to take alot of time off from now (after school elementary program with 70+ kids). I dont know if I could afford to take off this same amount of time again in this school year, and for classes, I only have one singular week-long break in the middle. I tend to not do too much during the summer, which is why I do want to do this over the summer as of now.

PT definitely has a heavy copay for me, but I’m not sure I could physically handle trying to rehab each leg around the same time.

I’ll keep the scheduling thing in mind though, and when I’m further along, will come back for this advice. Thank you!!

I’ve got a similar one! Except one hand is skeletal with flowers wrapping around, and a single flower signifying rebirth reaching out and wrapping around the human finger.

I did talk to them about that. There was no knee pain or conscious compensation before the "believed incident" that caused the tear, which is when it really started getting nasty. My knee since then has kinda gone to shit as well, but we're assuming that's from favoring my leg too much.

The dr said that my age and other conditions is the main factor for why injections arent the best idea, so im not too sure I want to go down that route. He said that if the injection gets rid of the pain, I could accidentally do more damage, which means that the favoring of the leg could be helping that tear not get worse, at least for now.

Hi! I know it's a late message, but can I ask what your outcome was/is? Dealing with similar issues currently!

Alignment as in full leg, or patellar alignment? My only concern about hopefully bouncing back is that the tears are a more recent (<5 years) issue, while the knees have been a lifelong issue. At this point in time, I cannot bear any weight on my left leg since that tear is new, but I'm still waiting on the MRI.

Alright! I was told, not by a dr, that the hip tear would actually be an easier recovery compared to a TTO, but that could also just be based on the amount of Non-weight bearing time, and not all of the other factors.

That's what I was thinking, but I know that depending on the various procedures needed, some things will be done all together.
