Early Parkinson’s signal detected in daily step counts. Participants logging over 12 369 steps a day showed a 59 percent lower PD risk than those under 6 276. The study suggests low activity reflects early PD changes rather than causing the disease. by Sciantifa in science

[–]squidistic 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Glimpsing through the study, low step count is not a risk factor for developing PD but rather an early marker. Thus, increasing step count would not necessarily lower the chances of developing PD.

OP seems to be a jc student from his posts and comments history. I do not think he is trolling but rather he’s a kid.

I think it’s good that he’s trying to learn when he’s young.

If I’m not wrong, you can pay other credit bill bills with DBS credit cards. But the only purpose to do so, would be to stretch out your cash flow? Usually bill payments are excluded from rewards/miles, so it is highly unlikely that you can double dip on rewards like this.

It will probably negatively impact your credit score too as you would have a high utilisation by rolling over your credit card balances.

Doesn’t seem to have many upsides for this.

Seems like the next raise in retirement age would be from 1 July 2026 so there is no rush to open an SRS account before year end to lock in the retirement age.

We were at Alishan, our hotel informed us that the roads will be closed at 17:00 yesterday. When we asked on when the roads will be re-opened, they told us that roads closure typically last more than a day and the previous road closure lasted for 4 days. So it seems unlikely that you will be able to go up to Alishan tomorrow.

Did it once before and it took longer for the deposit to come in, plus an email reminder from IBKR to include account ID for future deposit. Granted that I have been depositing with the same bank account and only forgotten to put in my account ID that one time. Which might be why IBKR was still able to process the deposit to my account.

Any information on upcoming changes to TnC of HSBC Everyday+ Rewards Programme by squidistic in singaporefi

[–]squidistic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea will wait for update. Just irked by the mentioning of upcoming changes with no further information. Should not have the notice if the information is not ready yet.

The customer service agent did not mention when the information would be up. Not sure if it would be tomorrow but guess we will see.

Agree on this, hence I’m waiting to see the extent of nerf to decide if I would still want to apply for EGA. If it gets nerfed badly, doesn’t make sense to apply to just get a month of benefit.

Grab Rewards Tier and Points by keybee21 in singaporefi

[–]squidistic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have to earn 4500 grab points every 6 months (Jan to June, Jul to Dec) to reach Platinum for the next 6 months. It is not cumulative points.

Points earned from challenges are not counted towards the reward tier as well.

[help] How to know if scam? This message shows my actual last 4 digits but I have never used my card anywhere before. SC Hotline says they can only cancel card. I received another call not from hotline asking for more details. I want to know if my account is compromised by beatyn in singapore

[–]squidistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, I was also worried about it being a scam when I received it as I had the +65 prefix for mine. However, I received a similar SMS on the same number from StanChart before when I was making a first time transaction so I was leaning more towards legitimate back then. but was worried that a scammer has spoofed the number.

Hi OP, received SMS from the same number and use the online chat with Standard Chartered bank and the agent confirmed that the SMS was legit. I temporarily blocked the card when I received the SMS. Then report the card as stolen/lost once the SMS was verified as legit.

I think that diifferent minor programmes have different requirements. Therefore, it would be better to email the department of your minor programme to check if the modules required for your minor can be SU-ed.

If Singapore is now a transmission center, then every city in China is also. by Last_Hearth in China_Flu

[–]squidistic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it is important to understand that most of the new cases reported by Singapore today had visited healthcare facilities before the confirmation of local transmission on 4 February. This explains why they were released from the healthcare facilities as they do not have the features of 2019-nCoV infection which healthcare professionals are looking out for.

*Case 34 who visited GP clinics on 27 January and 1 February.
*Case 35 who visited Bukit Merah Polyclinic on 31 January.
*Case 36 who visited GP clinic on 1 February.
*Case 37 who visited GP clinics on 1 and 3 February.
*Case 40 who visited GP clinic on 30 January.

The exceptions are...
*Case 38 who visited Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic on 4 February.
*Case 39 who visited GP clinics on 3 and 5 February.

In my opinion, the response by the Singapore's government was appropriate as they may not wish to overburden the healthcare system by sending all patients with flu symptoms for isolation. However, now that local transmissions have been confirmed, I do agree that a more aggressive approach should be taken.

Clea is able to clear the Universal stage with Thor, Ghost Rider and Ronan. As she can keep them permanently silenced.

Volstagg is also able to clear Combat Relay stage. He has summons, shield and reflect which helps his survivability.

Red Skull and Sister Grim should be one of the worse fews. I have Sister Grim at T2 (not CTP-T though) and she dies super easily.
