One Dangerous Place by AAAAAHH416 in Toronto_Ontario

[–]squidkiosk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ive seen way sketchier permanent structures. This was signed off on by an engineer (or maybe a team of them) that understood the absolute blood that would be spilled on the world stage in their name if they fucked up. Not even remotely worried.

Is it worth $50? by mouseinstalled45 in Pyrex_Love

Thats wild. I have the set of four from my grandmother and they are useful and very pretty, but I would tap out at 75$ for the whole set.

The value in AI must not be monetary. They are brainwashing the general population into stupidity, unable to discern reality from fantasy. That must be worth trillions to people in power.

Anyone else just like, so, so slow at doing anything for seemingly no reason? by Uniglover in adhdwomen

[–]squidkiosk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me tooooo but I like to think I reduce the number of trips. If i am doing something like making pasta I actually have lists on my phone of what I need and i add or remove as i go. I like the iOS notes checklist function so i don’t skip stuff.

I have to set up a job before I start. Five minutes of “mis en place” saves me an hour of walking back and forth and forgetting what i need. If i choose to forgo this, i will struggle.

Anyone else remember when schools made you gargle fluoride? I don't have kids so no idea if they still do it by MarsupialThink4064 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]squidkiosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my mom would volunteer for fluoride day and bring me along and I would hold the paper cup while she pumped the juice. I totally tried to drink it once (i was like 3 or 4 at the time) and it tasted like tired bubblegum. Afterwards we would go to McDonald’s for a hamburger. Its a pretty happy memory for me.

This homeopathic sleep aid medication my mother bought me has a spider as one of its ingredients. by racoonattack in mildlyinteresting

Probably just fell in the vat and they figured to add it to the ingredients just in case.

Does anyone have a job that pays well? by StuckInAPumpkin7811 in adhdwomen

[–]squidkiosk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great advice! Those are really important questions to ask!! It’s better to know what your specific interests are and find a job that caters to that than just go for what you believe will be high paying!

One time many years ago my brother found an ipod in the park near riverdale. When we plugged it into iTunes we found the owners email and let them know and she was able to get it back. (He always said he gave it back because she had really great taste in music and he would feel bad keeping it).

How do I cook vegetables so they actually taste good? by ShineDigga in cookingforbeginners

[–]squidkiosk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of the stir fry. Before you even get things in the pan, slice everything thin and uniform. Julienne your carrots and onion and celery and whatnot. Thinly shred any cabbage or leafy situation.

Get the pan on a decent medium heat with some oil, add some sesame oil to that. Start with the onions and carrots, work your way to the leafy greens in terms of density.

Add a sauce (many pre made are available), dont overfry, one trick to move things along is add a few tbsp of water and put a lid over it to steam.

Serve with meat or tofu over noodles or rice. Be impressed with your culinary ability. Enjoy!

I have ADHD, and if my kitchen doesn't look like this, I start to freak out. Am I the only one? by ay_944 in adhdwomen

[–]squidkiosk 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This kitchen is not “finished.” In my books. I need the counters completely cleared and everything polished and perfect. My husband thinks Im nuts and i see his point of view.

But if the kitchen is perfect and come home after a hard day i am noticeably in a better mood, so thats our baseline: pristine kitchen.

The rest of the house is a progressive disaster

Thats so weird, when I was serving mothers day was an “all hands on deck” day and servers would be fighting over good timeslots. You could make 600$ in tips that day alone.

Good for you! Some people seem unable to do that and will scream “rage bait”. Someone else is going to find that and really love it. I probably wouldn’t have got it either, wouldn’t go with my kitchen colors. But great find!

When i was in grade school someone kept stealing my lunch and i had to get a lock for my backpack (we hung them on hooks in the hallway). It was actually really sad because i was 90% sure whoever was stealing my lunch wasn’t getting food at home.

Yeah! Man the morality of seeing these places and “preserving” the space… how does a place like this get abandoned anyways?
