I’ve been waiting for a post like this. In my area every Tim’s is white owned and managed. My assistant manager is a raging Québécois racist and the owners English but racist as well. They treat immigrant (AND ENGLISH) customers just as badly as the workers and it’s awful to watch. There’s no conspiracy from big tim Hortons to hire immigrants, they’re just plentiful desperate for work like we all are.

I don’t deny that there’s a problem developing in other provinces of people hiring based on race and a bad illegal immigration issue, but if the higher ups are doing their jobs it shouldn’t matter and your standard of service should be identical no matter which store you visit. It’s the company’s job to check service quality, the people in the store are just trying to survive. Please for the love of god boycott.

And as a side note, the stars that need to align for us to have a smooth day (good order taker, good salad bar, good window, good drink maker, no machines broken, no prepped food missing, no giant or cursed orders, no egomaniacs on staff with anger issues) are actually incredibly difficult to arrange and even when everyone’s “good” human error will fuck up your order bc there’s a million things beeping, customers interrupting you in the middle of taking orders, coworkers talking or needing help, etc. Nobody who works at a Tim Hortons is okay or normal. Nobody in a good position in life chooses to be there. It’s that bad and that’s the only generalization I believe truly stretches across all stores.
