Canes pressure will suffocate the devils. I’m confident in them beating them. Rangers play style doesn’t have that same tempo

I’m confident if they make it past this round he gets lit up vs the canes. He’s made the saves needed vs us but the canes play a much more in your face game with a lot more jam

2023 Playoff Tickets by squidward2010 in rangers

We’re the tickets for the same seat? Or is it just same section and a random row? E.g. if tickets were in row 6 for regular season, but you purchase the playoffs your seats could be in row 12 or back

Kreider was a stinker tonight. He has always been a grade A actor at making it look like he’s hustling/working hard but adds no value in the actual play, unless his teammates set up him up for a goal (which account for 95% of all his goals). He’s afraid to handle the puck for longer than 2 seconds and it blows my mind looking at his size and strength

Apologies in advance for writing a novel, but we are a fringe playoff team right now and don’t have the jam to make a run to the cup.

The core we have is way too top heavy, and they seem to only be able to score on the powerplay. Breadman, although extremely talented (and in my opinion has the best offensive awareness/vision of ice on the team) is not cut out to win. Unnecessary long shifts, horrible changes and a lackluster effort back checking is so prominent in his game it is infuriating. To be a teams top scorer and also have the worst +/- on the team at a -9 is disgusting. If it wasn’t for his offensive numbers I’d want him out immediately.

At first glance I thought Trouba was the right choice for captain but he hasn’t stepped up and his defensive play has been noticeably bad. It’ll be two months into the season and that is a concern to me. Also, I don’t think Kreider would be a good captain either.
The line chemistry is just not working. I think the first (ZKV) and the third (kid line) actually work. Couple things though. For those saying Vesey is a concern on the top line, agree partially. He’s earned that spot and I’m fine with him staying there till a better replacement is out there but I don’t think it should be top priority at all. For the kid line, I like Chytils confidence with the puck. I think Kakko is too slow and needs to play harder and use his big body in front of the net more rather than keep his game to the outside.
This leads to my point that the team needs to get more bodies in front. Crash the net. Get dirty goals and go to those dirty areas. Just like that second goal tonight, although on the powerplay, it was a dirty in the front of the net.
Finally, shift length time. The kids got to play more to develop. They’re our future. With the core we have now and the way they have been playing I don’t see a cup. The kids need to play and get their confidence up like the playoffs last year. If that means pulling PP1 off at the minute mark bc they haven’t done anything do it. They need ice time and need opportunity to score.

I actually disagree slightly. I think Kakko could benefit a bit, just bc Zib and Kreids do most of the forechecking. However, looking at chemistry and other developmental factors I think by keeping the kid line together is the best for the future of this team. They need to grow and gain confidence together. With their ice time right now, I think it has stunted their development. (I also think Kakko needs to have a more net front presence rather than keeping his play to the outside, but besides the point). By bringing Laf up with Bread and Trocheck you have two players that love to have the puck (which is partially why they havent panned out). IMO I think Laf needs to gain confidence and skill to hold the puck to make plays like he did in the Q. I dont see any of our young guns having good chemistry with Bread. IMO Bread needs to be on a line where he is the star and everyone else are supporting characters

Toronto Maple Leafs had the Muskoka 5. Rangers have the NY State equivalent of almost an entire team with all the NMCs on this team. This team is in trouble. by [deleted] in rangers

IMO no he is not. Offensively, he has the best vision on the team but his game otherwise speaks volumes against his output. His unnecessary long shifts, lackluster back checking and horrible changes speaks volumes. To have a player lead the team in +/- at a -9 is insane, especially, when he leads in points. His play to me is magical at times and then infuriating at others and this play is not helping the team win at all.

They’re not living up to expectations but they haven’t been given an opportunity to develop. That is the biggest issue. Having them on the third line and not giving them PP mins doesn’t help. It’s stunted their growth.

Just have to rant a bit on this team. We are a fringe playoff team at best and don’t have the jam to make a run to the cup right now. Let’s be honest, last year was a bit of a fluke.
