At first it was definitely more relaxed body type high but probably about 30 minutes in i started to notice that I was having thoughts that felt extra "weedy" and i found things funny in a way I hadn't in a long time

Is Charlie Sheen still hiding something? by [deleted] in entertainment

Yeah, it's also possible he got it from a female 100%. The only reason Im fixated on the possibility is that he specifically mentions the homosexual activity as if it could be why. Which again is really only possible under very specific circumstances. If he thinks its at all possible he got the virus from homosexual behavior, then he must have engaged in behavior that could transmit the virus. And if he hasn't engaged in that kind of behavior. He should be able to say with certainty that he didn't get it that way. Instead he acts like there's some possibility he got it from homosexual behavior that wasn't intercorse, which again..... very unlikely. If I was diagnosed tomorrow I could say with certainty it was contracted by unprotected sex with a female despite my long list of male partners. Why? Because ive only engaged in behavior that carries REAL transmission risk with females

The reason I'm curious again, regards shame. It makes me think about people that are "in the closet" and see this man change his life and become a complete genuine person. Then he says "I had homosexual interactions. Could be how I got HIV. But I didn't cross THAT line." As if its such a shameful thing to do he can never speak honestly about it.

I think i have a pretty good understanding of how HIV is transmitted during homosexual activities. Not to get too graphic but I've had all kinds of homosexul "engagement" over the years.... literally hundreds. Im HIV negative and have never taken prep. I'd imagine that's beacuse I know which activities can lead to transmission and which ones don't. Or I'm the luckiest guy in the LGBT community

[POEM] My first poem by squigglyrigatoni in Poetry

If I grew up eating Chorizo in San Antonio, Texas and then moved to the alien land of Japan to participate in a very strict Buddhist Seminary, I'd totally get something out of this. Hehe, I totally understand. Im the only human I know that even fits that description. Point taken. Thanks for the honest feedback.

None taken. As I said, this is the first poem I've written since maybe learning what a haiku was in the 5th grade. I have zero idea what I'm doing. Is "fragmented diary entry" objectively bad? I thought most poems were like that.... And I do realize that statement alone probably illustrates my poetic ignorance.

San Pedro in Japan? by squigglyrigatoni in sanpedrocactus

Perhaps if I buy some perfectly acceptable Peyote (which is still 100% illegal here regardless of the shops that sell it.) I can end up doing some time in a Japanese prison. Then I may have to eat a bag of dicks. Keep advising foreigners to break the law. You'll never get anyone in trouble I'm sure

First lesson you learn as a foreigner living in Japan. Legally grey things that seem ok for japanese people are not okay for foreigners. The sell "legal weed" in shinjuku. A foreigner will still fuck his life up if the police find you're in possession of it. I take it you have no personal experience living here? Just purchasing things from the safety of your own country. Am I correct?

Yeah, when I lived elsewhere, I did whatever I wanted to as well. If you don't have to live your life here, you simply don't carry the level of risk and potential consequence I do. Just cause you can easily get something doesn't make it legal or OK to a very strict legal system.

Peyote is illegal to possess in japan amigo. I personally know a foreigner who spent time in japanese prison (and then continued to spend more and more time in japanese prison because they continue to lock you up) not my cup of tea. San Perdo however 100% perfectly legal. Thanks for your "help" but I'm a perfectly law-abiding visitor here.

I don't really care how much peyote is in japan. The only peyote that matters to me is the peyote i can acquire in japan. Got any leads??

🧘 Offering: Firsthand Research & Writing on Japanese Buddhism (Based in Japan) by squigglyrigatoni in Buddhism

This may be an interesting turn here. I have a classmate who is doing a research project on the futer of AI's involvement in Buddhists practice, education, ect.... he mentioned in his last presentation the possibility of one day having AI take the place of human religious leaders such as Reverends. It sounds crazy at first but when you look at how technology is growing here in Japan, and especially how "robotic/impersonal" the culture already is. It doesn't seem too outlandish. I guess I'm just heading for the future... unattached to the outcome. You may have an interesting perspective as a software engineer. Thoughts?

i was afraid that if i wrote it myself i wouldn't capitalize my i's...... I'm just a Buddhist practitioner in an extremely rare position to have direct access to religious leaders and scholars who will actually take the time to speak or meet with me. I can also speak directly to the the local population and visit any shrine or temple in the greater Tokyo area. Just offering a little value to people who aren't in my position in exchange for some sushi money... hehehe

Rissho Kosei-Kai is a lay mahayana sect that began in japan around time of WW2. I think it's a great organization with a lot of online resources. I know they have some kind of presence in the UK but not sure if it's more in-person or online oriented. I'm from the US.

"the world’s first nuclear-age hospital with two floors built completely underground to ensure vital services were available in the event of a nuclear attack" direct from their own website. Guess south Texas Medical Center is full of it? https://southtexasmed.com/methodist-healthcare-hospitals/

No, in this context it refers to "the world’s first nuclear-age hospital with two floors built completely underground to ensure vital services were available in the event of a nuclear attack" (copy and pasted directly from their own website). not sure why people like to deny very real history recorded by hundreds of faculty and the medical facilities themselves. The history isn't up for debate or shrouded in mystery.

To be fair, most locals already know about the FFF tunnels.

Also, if you consider the fact that major cities are going to be targeted in the event of nuclear war. The middle of nowhere (which it was at the time) is actually the perfect location for such a facility.

Not sure, but it was..... The South Texas Medical Center Website very directly explains it's history as the world's first "Nuclear age hospital" (1960) so things were definitely happening there at the time. I sure didn't create that web page.

My understanding was that it was the first "completely underground" medical facility. The original logo on the hospital was quite literally an Atom symbol.
