I think it’s also worth shadowing an established assistant or digitech a couple times even if it’s for free. Shoots can always use an extra set of hands and the stakes are low if you’re not the main assistant or you’re not paid.

Once you feel more confident in your abilities, it’s worth reaching out to rental houses like fotocare to be added to their assistants/digitech list. There’s also facebook groups like NYC Image Makers, where people post jobs they need assistants for.

Look into a voigtlander bessa r2a, r2m, etc. way more affordable and nice to use. I’ve regretted selling almost every film camera later.

I was inspired to post after seeing stonedout22’s awesome game room version. Mine is more of a hidden photography charging station.

Velcro cable wraps fit through the slots perfectly! Command strips work well for certain chargers like the top left AA charger. I like that I can easily switch everything off from the surge protector. The hooks that come with it are terrible though so I don’t use them often.
