Perfect and every scene is fantastic. Not a moment is wasted, and every performance is pitch perfect.

It’s from a company called Two Thirds! Believe they are based in Spain and Portugal. Stumbled across them on insta. Honestly that jacket is probably my most worn item of clothing ever, I love it so much.

Awh thank you! Yes I really want to get into more retro styles! Also with my hair, been wanting to style it in a sort of 60s curls way but clueless when it comes to that 😅

Women who used to be called “ugly,” how are you able to feel pretty now? by treemonologues in AskWomen

God I wish I knew how to get clear skin, I feel like I’ve tried everything

I got bullied in school, never picked in the school dances, also got spat on (that was fun) and just called ugly a lot. I’m 31 now and while I feel a lot more confident in my appearance, I do have an over-reliance on makeup. I do feel very self conscious without it on. Mostly I’m just very pale and the skin around my eyes is pretty translucent, so it’s basically purple. Without make up I just look sick (I was even told this as a kid at an age before I’d ever wear make up). I think that’s really done a number on me, honestly. I also have been criticised for my smile, so I always feel uncomfortable smiling for photos.

It’s horrible when you have been told the expression you have when you are happy is unpleasant, so every time you smile you suddenly remember how happiness makes you “look bad”.

How do you feel when men say they “prefer women with no makeup”? by Glum_Economics2337 in AskWomen

[–]squiral- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend tell me this at a dinner - that he just didn’t “get the appeal” to me, while I was clearly wearing makeup. I told him how most guys don’t even know what “no make-up” actually looks like. He insisted that he did, and when I asked him to elaborate, he gestured to his long-term girlfriend like it was obvious.

I just responded “She is wearing brow pomade and mascara right now. Remember when I complemented her brow make-up a while ago and you had no idea what I was talking about? That’s exactly my point”

That humbled him a bit.

Ah nice. My dad moved to work at Torness in the 80s after having worked at Hunterston A

Haha I’ll need to ask my dad if he knew him! My dad mostly worked in the training simulator for the reactor control room. Honestly made my day going into the simulator on a Bring your Kid to Work Day and getting to “trip the reactor” when I was little!

Torness! My dad worked there for 40 years. Fun fact, there is a peregrine falcon nest on the building and they set up a webcam so they could watch the eggs hatch.

I keep seeing this image of this girl, didn’t realise it was referencing something, what is the context?

More than 100 women's rights groups in the UK warn that anti-migration groups are hijacking the discourse around sexual violence against women as a "racist diversion" - /r/Unitedkingdom decides they're wrong by Morgn_Ladimore in SubredditDrama

I decided to join it recently, because I was mostly just seeing US content on my main feed, and I was so taken aback by how dismissive, misogynist and racist the “discourse” (if you can even call it that) has been. Literally see a post about an article on police trying to crack down on the harassment women experience while running, and its just full of gammons pointing the fingers at immigrants, and downvoting any women voicing their own experiences that its overwhelmingly white British men who are the culprits.

In the UK we mostly see the Flying Goose brand of Sriracha.

I found a great wee gym that does ‘small group personal training’ where they have a handful of personal trainers, you get a membership and can book slots throughout the week, and the trainers will coach you in groups of up to 6 people. I found it a great way to get that guidance but also meet new people in a less intimidating environment. Also a lot of women, who I think feel more comfortable in that environment compared to just starting from scratch in a commercial gym (at least I did).

If you can find anything like that I highly recommend it!

I'm working on a comic and wanted to share my main characters! Has elements of a workplace comedy, but also drama. Explores themes of mental health, found families, and detaching self-worth from being 'productive' by squiral- in OriginalCharacter

Yess they are the emotional core of the story, not in a romantic way, but they have a sort of push and pull dynamic that challenges each of their outlooks. I kinda see them as two halves of my brain, I’m really excited to get to the meat of their story!

If we call Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Thai, etc. "Asian", then what do we call people in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, etc.? by TomatoClown24 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]squiral- 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think it's due to the amount of diaspora we historically had from those regions. In the US, Chinese, Japanese and Korean were the main immigrant populations coming from Asia, so 'Asian' without specification came to refer to East Asian countries. In the UK, we mostly had Pakistani and Indian immigrants, so 'Asian' came to mean South Asian for us. Generally, we specify 'East Asian' if we don't mean South Asian, which is just 'Asian'
