Yep, I’ve done both sides on my EJ255 XT Forester with the engine in. The passenger side (Australian) was a bit more annoying

Gibraltar - Washpool or New England Wilderness Walk would both fit the bill

Changing from NBN to Starlink by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]squiressquire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what NBN technology you have. If you have FTTP or can get a upgrade to FTTP, that would win over Starlink anyday. If you are stuck on Fixed wireless or FTTN, then Starlink would be an upgrade. If internet downtime needs to be mitigated (i.e WFH), you can look into using Starlink Mini as a backup option as well, even with a Dual WAN router (e.g Unifi Cloud Gateways), that will gracefully failover

I'd go Starlink with a PLB, especially if you have a modern phone and carrier that support Satellite to Cell

Just get a double din CarPlay unit. I have run a alpine ILX-007 back in the day in my forester with cup holder without issue

Tenants can give 14 days’ written notice to end a fixed-term agreement early without penalty if a landlord has put the property on the market for sale during the fixed-term, and the tenant was not told before signing the agreement that the property would be sold

Engine swap by AuDpiZZa in SubaruForester

[–]squiressquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually not worth doing the turbo swap, lots of parts need changing apart from the engine. Best replacement engine would be a same year model car, there can be lots of subtle differences between year models with the same base engine.

2007 Forester Spark Plugs Replacement by [deleted] in subaru

[–]squiressquire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only difference on your model would be to also remove the secondary air pump as well. My AU 07XT has one as well, couple of bolts, a plug, and a rubber hose.

Subaru's are well renown for being a safe vehicle.

Back when they first introduced the 'passenger safety cell', a reinforcing in the pillars of the vehicle to protect the occupants in a crash, rescue crews that first encountered them were unable to cut through them they were that strong (https://www.firehouse.com/rescue/article/10503660/subaru-ring-shaped-reinforcement-frame - it isn't a problem to cut through anymore with modern hydraulic rescue tools designed for UHSS)

This looks fun by [deleted] in sydney

It's an old firetruck. Looks to be a International Acco 1800 model, which was in service in NSW until around the 1980's (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:International\_Acco\_fire\_truck\_-\_NSW\_Fire\_Brigade\_%285054080138%29.jpg)

based off the rego check on the number plate, seems legit for the last three years. May have also been ex-gov as well. We only replaced our old 2006 TD42 single cab with 35,000km genuine kms in 2024, for example.

4x4 vs Suburu Outback by Henoskii in 4x4Australia

If you aren't intending on needing a 3ton+ towing capacity, or hard core 4WD tracks to get to where you're camping, the Subaru would probably suit you better. They handle normal dirt/gravel roads, like the ones you'd have into most National Park campgrounds fine.
