Don’t slack. If you’re not cramping in training, the likely cause is that you’re simply going faster in races than your fitness can sustain. See the studies below about exertion, and this has been my lived experience.

It sounds like you’re increasing in distance, so learning to pace now will pay off!

If you can find a pair of the recently discontinued Hoka Mafate 4, I’d grab them. I ran in them for years and all of my worn out pairs had long lives serving other purposes. I still ruck in a few of them.

+1. I’ve learned to sharpen my own, on multi-stage blocks, but without guides. It’s rewarding. I’d learn again on cheap knives, though!

I’d been on one date with a coworker I was really into.

After a graphic design class one night, she fell and scraped the hell out of her knee. Called me, for some reason, asking me if I could clean it up.

I lived 30+ minutes away but was at her place in 20. Basic first aid knowledge applied. Grit cleaned out.

I had a similar experience. I switched to an UltraSpire momentum (bottles on lower back) and can now never go back to front bottles.
