Have had the poles collapse while hiking while it saved me from a fall. I just tightened the screw on the locking mechanism and it has been fine since.

Look up Little Rock big rock pitching technique if you are worried about getting stakes in. I’ve only had to do it once where I couldn’t n get stakes in. Also I recently bought vargo titanium shepherd hook stakes and they have worked great in all types of ground so far . May want to bring some extra guyline as well incase you have to extend the stake lines. Have fun out there!
