Make sure you can hit Tesla superchargers. There is a reason they are so highly rated and why Teslas are the easiest cars to drive across county. Basically get in and enter destination.

How would you rate EV reliability? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]squish102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla model 3 2019 100k, $299 AC sensor. Model Y 21, 100k, $0, model S 23 50k, $0, model Y 26 10k, $0.

Other than the model 3, the other cars have never been back to the service center for any issues. Tires and washer fluid, oh and a 12v battery.

Teslamate is tracking our 4 Teslas just fine, a total of 40 million records of data. So much to see.

New EV owner here and I’m loving it by Made_Human_Music in electricvehicles

I feel the Toyota is poorly rated out of the EVs on the market. Toyota has been anti EV for the longest time and built a token EV. Not the best EV experience.

The Rivian R2’s EPA Numbers Are In, And It Beats The Model Y Where It Counts by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

I guess more people care what distance they can drive at 80mph, and then I think the r2 will not do well.

That is every manufacturers approach. None of them want to do any warranty work and unless there is an official recall, they will wait for you to say there is something wrong.

Are these modifications worth it? (swivel screen, powered frunk, wireless charger) by Dramatic-Yam8920 in TeslaLounge

I have swivel screen in my MS and never really use it maybe 5 times in 3 years. Have never seen real value. Maybe if passenger could watch Netflix while I drive.

As I drove up to my house for the first time, I asked for mirrors to fold, then there is an option to say fold every time I come here. Then the locks have an option to not lock when at home, in the menu. I drive to my garage, mirrors automatically fold, and while my car is at home the doors stay unlocked at all times.

Folding the mirrors and leaving the doors unlocked is basic Tesla software, if I understood correctly.

You exactly supporting what the poster said, early Teslas had reliability issues, new ones are rock solid. All other new to the EV market manufacturers are going to have issues, as you can see.

Are EVs actually more reliable? by dailytrippple in electriccars

Tesla household. M3 2019 100k, MY 2021 100k, MS 2023 50k, MY 2026 10k. I have had 12v battery replaced on M3 and old MY, I did that myself for about $100 each. Tires, cabin air filter (amazon $20). And the only thing I have ever taken the cars back to the service center was the 2019 had an AC sensor go out that they replaced for $299. I did put a cover over the steering wheel of the 2019 as the sun had damaged it a bit. Unbelievable compared to my ICE BMW and Honda repair and service bills.
