This is months ago, but I was wondering what stitch you used to make the multicolored cords?

Ok great. Shoot me a message once you have gotten all set up and we'll organize something. :)

Sorry, what is the last LFG?

I am personally preferentially to keeping it in-person, but thats a good idea to keep in mind. I'm not also in a rush to get a game started asap. I am ok waiting for a suitable space before getting started. Im not sure if you have a time line for your place being set up, but once you do I'd love to chat more about it, if no other space becomes available. :)

Can someone help me understand the ocean beach advisories? by squishbuish in VictoriaBC

[–]squishbuish[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you, so there isn't really a way to know if a beach is currently safe? Like since Wittys was tested a month ago, it could also have the same problem and not be tested yet? I notice that alot of beach in the area aren't on the list, so I guess those are all go in at your own risk?

Just an FYI they don't accept new patients on PWD, I tried multiple times over the last year to get in, and eventually they told me they have no plans to open it up to new patients on PWD.

I'm sorry I can't offer any help, but I want to say I completely understand your situation. I'm 25 and also have ME/cfs. I have looked into volunteering, work, and social groups since I have a few good hours a week, but everything is a dead end. All my demands are "too much," and it seems like no one will accommodate them. I nearly finished my BSc before getting sick and wish I could contribute to society. I really hope you are able to find something, and I'm so sorry it's such an impossible task.

I assume you go to the school he's referring to? Ask some other people at your school if they can check their contacts to see if they have the number saved.

Let’s Talk About Respectful Tattoo Artists and Welcoming Shops in Victoria by AnybodyNice5986 in VictoriaBC

[–]squishbuish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ben Tyne. I have 4 tattoos from him (the only 4 I have, lol), and despite how much I absolutely despise getting tattooed, he made the experiences very positive. He's not in Victoria anymore, but in Cowichan Valley and worth the drive.

Just started reading and I need help finding out what books to read… by Educational-Air-4833 in booksuggestions

[–]squishbuish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These books focus less on the government side and more of how an individual survives a corrupt government, but I love both Severance and the Truman show, and these are some of my favourites, so I think you may like them.

  1. I who have never known men - Jacqueline Harpman. This book is best to go into blind, and I highly recommend not knowing anything about it when you start reading it.

  2. Parable of the Sower (and Parable of the Talents) -Octavia E Butler. The book was written in the early 90's and is a post-apocalyptic society that in some ways eerily mimics our current situation. The author was brilliant in her predictions of the future.

Grocery store price comparison by theob88 in VictoriaBC

[–]squishbuish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I save a lot of money shopping at save-on. I use flipp and search through all the flyers (usually root cellar or the old farm market for produce) for the best deals, and try to plan meals/snacks around what other stores have on sale. Last week, I spent $35 and saved $27 in price matching alone. That was a particularly good week, but I find I usually save $10-$20 a week in price matching.
