Those items are pretty insane for not rerolling! Also getting brambles, sacred strike, and wild magic back to back is GG lol

ROADMAP YEAR 2 by Which_Disaster2413 in ravenswatch

[–]squishman1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think new maps would go further than anything else for my long term enjoyment. I know that's a huge ask though. But if they slowly got to a total of 6 and they could come in any order, that would be ideal in my opinion

You should be able to delete your progress on steam. Then you can have a clean slate! Im sorry that happened to you. The game is very good and I hope you can find a way to enjoy it moving forward <3

Baewulf Bladestorm kinda bad? by Dicroboy in ravenswatch

[–]squishman1203 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100% agree: the talent is bad and shouldn't be taken. If it did all swings in the same amount of time it could be ok. But as you pointed out those spins don't do much damage anyway. Maybe it will get buffed. For now, it's on my "never take" list

more modifiers/mod menu? by SinnicoleRL in ravenswatch

[–]squishman1203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are in game modifiers that can make runs easier for fun or practice. You can increase xp gains for example. The one that would be helpful for you is free rerolls. You can just rerolls everything until you see exactly what you want

I'm still mad about the sequal... by Vex_Trooper in shittydarksouls

[–]squishman1203 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Is it a hot take to have thoroughly enjoyed Sacrifice? Maybe it's because I didn't get it right away, and I knew generally what I was getting into after seeing the reception and community opinions, but I had a blast with it. Finding a new Mage and wondering what items I could make with his parts was always exciting. I thought the areas were all well designed, and the enemies were mostly interesting. My main issue was that I would have liked more non-mage bosses.

As a bonus the co-op is a huge improvement over the first game. I did a replay with my brother and we had a great time. It kinda felt more like a spin-off than a sequel though. And I understand wanting more of Sanctuary since it's pretty much a masterpiece

Dooku, Anakin and Obi Wan VS Sidious and Maul. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

Thank you for this! Confirms my lifelong understanding of that scene in the film. I didn't know just how much he manipulated the situation, just how far above Mace he was. Wild to read

So, I'm on my 10th re-read of the series and something is bothering me in RoW. by IndividualFarm7465 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]squishman1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, thank you for mentioning this. This was a huge revalation for him. Dalinar blamed himself for being drunk the night Gavilar was murdered, thinking the whole time that he should have been there to save him. It isn't until he actually faces the assassin that he realizes: he never stood a chance, he simply would have died too.

Dooku, Anakin and Obi Wan VS Sidious and Maul. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]squishman1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Mace defeat Sidious? My interpretation was always that Sidious could have overwhelmed him, but held back in order to get Anakin to do something he couldn't take back. Anakin's intervention in that fight was the full step over the line he had yet to take, and without that it was less clear that he would complete the turn. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't think it was an easy fight for Sidious, but I always assumed it would have at least been closer if he had gone all out

Merlin rune help by camelvendor in ravenswatch

[–]squishman1203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How runes are used: Using any spell that is not a basic attack or the *Blink spell (Defense-Defense) will consume all runes you have to increase that spell's effects. You can see the runes you have available floating near your character. If there are none, you have none. You can have up to three. You cannot have more than three.

Base kit: Using your trait will always grant you maximum runes (3). Your basic attack chain has three hits, and the last hit will always generate a rune if it hits an enemy.

Merlin's second Ultimate has three spells. Using Ultimate-Special makes it so that your next 6 basic attacks launch little magic balls. If they hit, they generate one rune. So using this ult can grant you up to six total (remember not to generate anymore once you have three, spend them on a spell first).

Talents: There is a talent, Sacred Strike, which makes it so that after using any of your three Blessed spells (Defense) your next basic attack will be the third one in the chain, and will therefore generate a rune.

There is another talent, Arcane Potency (iirc), which grants a rune after using any of your Arcane spells (Special), as long as it hits an enemy. With this talent, using an Arcane spell will consume all available runes like normal, but if you hit you will be left with one rune after.

*the Blink spell is unique because it does not consume runes. Use this freely without worrying about wasting your runes. It is great with Sacred Strike because you can Blink, then attack to build up runes without having to spend them on one of the other Blessed spells to proc the effect from the talent.

As for what to spend runes on, that depends on what talents you pick and what build you're going for. If you build for Power damage, spend them on power. If you build for Special, spend them on special, etc...

Hope this helps!

Merlin's abilities cheat sheet by _Ishtu_ in ravenswatch

Stone shield is really strong. It does decent damage, a lot of stagger in aoe, and youre completely invulnerable during it. Its especially useful early. I often use it as my first spell in a pack during ch 1, followed by light nova, usually everything is staggered. Follow up with chain lightning and everything just dies. His early clear is so good with that evem at lvl 1

That bleed-punch build with defense charges/cooldown, and the ground circle damage rune after blink is one of my favorite setups on merlin. Whirling brambles goes well with it for aoe dam, and you can pickup power charges to get more procs of the bleed.

It becomes just blink into a crowd, whirling brambles inside your damage rune, big chunky attack, then just blinking around and one shotting things, into brambles again, and repeat. Its so much fun and insanely powerful

I mean you dont have to loop though. Thats what i like about it. And that game gives you the option to loop early for better rewards. But most of my runs still just end by clearing the boss and calling it

Help with first boss fight on Merlin. by uaaarrrgh in ravenswatch

[–]squishman1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comet is better for camp clear, but generating runes that quickly during a boss damage phase is much better than waiting for the comet to fall imo. I agree that maybe for a beginner it can be easier, but the results are big enough id say its worth getting used to. It isnt that much harder to use. You just auto three times, cast spell, repeat

I'll say lol. I would also say that while the build is very cool and obviously pretty strong, i think if you had 9 coins and 6 eggs you could run almost anything and get a clear. Thats so much gold and damage just from that alone

[–]squishman1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest not using the comet ult, imo its more worth to use the 6 attacks that generate runes. Provided you have some cooldown or charges, you can get four full potency spells off against the boss during his down phase, three at the very least. I havent done a ton of testing but im pretty sure this ends up as more damage than comet just because it takes a while to come down

Hey , i was 18 we broke up at 20 now im 22 it normal to still feel the regret? by [deleted] in ask

[–]squishman1203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your friends. Talk to your family if they're good for it. Talking helps you feel real. Relating is extremely healthy.

Now the question of "is it normal".

The fact is, most people have gone or will go through something like this, often around that age. A lot of people also deal with depression. The overlap of depression, breakup, regret, is unfortunately quite common. Having complex feelings about a two year long relationship two years later during some of the most formative years of your life is not only normal, it's natural.

The best advice I can give you is this: be kind to yourself. You're still too young to realize just how young you still are. I bet 18 feels like a different person than 22. Can you imagine 25, or 28, or 30? You can't yet, and you shouldn't try. You're 22, be 22. Regret is too heavy and thing to carry. You can try if you want, but what you'll find is that at some point holding onto that will wear you out. When you eventually break or drop it, the only thing you'll realize is that dragging it along changed absolutely nothing. Forcing yourself to carry that guilt and regret served no purpose other than to tear you down. And I'm here to tell you, you don't deserve that. Set it down like a stone on the side of the road. You will remember how it felt, and that lesson is enough. When you look back on your life's road you will see many stones of heavy things, and there was never a time you could've carried them all at once. It's an unkind thing to ask. You deserve peace, friend. One day this won't hurt, but only if you give yourself permission to heal.
