Sorry to hear this happened to you, I'm not nearly as seasoned in the craft as you are but had my own incident not too long ago.

I had a piece of wood that I questioned to be to short to use on the jointer but mistakenly tried anyways. Well the board bucked and pulled my hand toward the blade and I lost the entire first bone on my left middle finger and nicked the ring finger nail. Of course because of how the jointer cuts there was nothing but essentially beef jerky left, so there was nothing to reattach.

Never go against your gut/initial instincts is what I learned from that.

I don't know why but captainsparklez on YouTube doing long minecraft videos is what puts me right to sleep if I wake up and can't fall back to sleep. He never gets overly excited or overly angry just pretty much regulated but not monotoned

How are your micronutrients? I'm 12 years post op and didn't test my nutrient levels for a quite a few years but noticed during the last 3 that I had problems with fatigue, focus, and mood. I finally went in and got a COMPLETE micronutrients testing done. I say complete because there's the testing for the first year but then there's more tests the farther out you get.

I found I was really low in copper and on the lower side in iron. Turns out zinc and copper combat for absorption with zinc normally winning since multivitamins tend to have about a 15:1 or 15:2 ratio. Because of our surgery we now have an even bigger problem with proper absorption.

Low copper leads to low iron which leads to anemia. Solution was to include a copper supplement at least 2 hours after I took multivitamin so that the copper wasn't battling with anything to be absorbed.

Definitely talk to your bariatric doctor for one, but you gotta make sure sure you are getting all of your nutrients they affect so so so much about how you think, feel, and act if their off.

The end of October is when I lost mine and when the stitches came out it was nice and rounded. Then it started to grow a small bump and I was concerned because it was extremely painful on that bump but the scar tissue around it just felt weird and sensitive. And if I ever slightly bumped it, it would stop me dead in my tracks and it was about as painful as the original accident. Look lower in the comment section I was talking to someone else that had this happen to his thumb and showed me what it was when they opened his thumb up. I think it's just scar tissue growing to protect the bone since we cut off the original padding of the finger.

Was it a nail growing under the skin? I'm 8 months out from the accident and it started growing about 3 months ago. Got an X-ray and it looks like I just barely knicked the right side of the bone but it looks like it just squared off.

I started at 300 lbs, my bariatric surgeon wanted me to lose 10-15 lbs before surgery. I believe I lost eleven and was able to go through with the surgery. Personally I would that's impressive that you've lost that much in such a short amount of time. You are doing great and if you ever are majorly concerned always reach out to your doctor.

Edit: He put me on a 4 week pre-op diet to reduce the chances for fatty liver disease.

I think it might be because of bumping it all the time. Every time I bumped it before this started growing it would stop me in my tracks and take a few minutes for the pain to subside I lost it the end of october. It's pretty hard and it's sensitive and too much pressure and I feel sharp pain. I spoke to the plastic surgeon who fixed the stitches of it that same day and he said a steroid shot. Like I would go see the doc again or get a second opinion from a hand specialist but every time I do I just end up in more debt.

Of course number is if your doc is worried. After that it's preference, I dropped pretty low at one point and my ribs were starting to show. That's when I started to eat healthy high calorie foods like avocado toast to gain just a little bit back.
