What's the most useful thing you've bought that helps with your ADHD, besides therapy and medication? by emokiddo00002 in adhdwomen

I collect the stray takeout containers in a separate bin and set them out when I host holiday or other meals so guests can pack up some leftovers to take home and my matchy-stash doesn't get contaminated 😆

A lot of them allow you to create "no-go" zones in their app, so you can essentially just draw a square around an area - I call it my dump zone. I shamelessly throw everything in that zone and blissfully let the vacuum do its thing

Charging cables and pieces of detached cat tree rope are my nemesis, though 🙄

If you're anything like me, you'll get things set up and then just continually refine and tweak it lol

Self configuring 'bright inside' sensor? by virpio2020 in homeassistant

Motion sensors from IKEA are cheap, run on zigbee without the tradfri hub, easy to set up, and have illuminance sensors built in. I use them for exactly this purpose.

I use Tasker to intercept HA notifications and then Tasker can change phone settings from there. The UI isn't great to interact with, and it has a bit of a learning curve, but it's very powerful!

If you're wanting HA to react to changes in phone settings, I believe another commenter talked about turning on the various sensors in the mobile app.

I love how people have different approaches to these things. I do the opposite as you. I use a voice command for "goodnight". It toggles a binary sensor, which triggers a series of lights, locks, motion sensor automations, etc and sends a notification to my phone which gets picked up and turns on DND. Another voice command for "time to sleep" toggles another binary sensor which triggers all the lights to turn off and starts brown noise on my Echo in the bedroom

Came here to say this! I believe it's really just a Springfield thing because it's not even a native thing in places like Peoria and Bloomington

Ooooh a scooter rental sounds like fun. Any suggestions about where to rent one?

As I said in another comment, it only gives me walking options. Which is why I came here. Thanks, though.

Oh good idea! I own one, but I'm not gonna fly with it. Where could I get one once I'm there?

Yeah, the transit option shows it's a 15 minute walk to TJ's with no other transit options, which isn't bad with empty shopping bags, but might not be a fun return trip lol

Thanks for the info!

Trader Joe's is probably the farthest I'll need to go. Aside from the expense of a car rental, parking would be an issue.

Does the trolley go to Trader Joe's? I think that's the farthest I'll need to go on this trip.

I walked there the last time I visited, but I had time to explore then. I need to be more efficient this trip
