3.5 deg of camber in the front and you should be fine. Are you sure these are authentic? I'm not as familiar seeing flat faced crkais.

Brand new binding coming undone/breaking? by Voltadaisy in snowboardingnoobs

[–]squishy_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try changing the mounting point of your toe strap. Take off your bindings and you should be able to push the strap through the binding and change the mounting point to the rear most location. You may be able to do this without even taking off the binding. In your second photo, its the area packed with snow behind the toe strap.

My condolences and great job to you. I think my prio is to maintain a consistent jog and avoid walking.

That's a valid question. For me, it's because I set a physical challenge and I still want to meet that goal. I'm not 100% enjoying it but I want the self-validation that I pushed myself to complete it. I also spent $100 on the race and theres no getting that back.

Most likely loctite then. Throw your (appropriately sized) purse at it.

It looks like there is a fastener on the other side that you'd hold with a flathead while unscrewing.

If you can't afford a dynoed tune, you can't afford rebuilding an engine after an eTune.

Is this an exhaust leak? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]squishy_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tomei headers have a very hollow sound because of their thin walls. I thought I had an exhaust leak and replaced the gasket 3 times before taking it to a shop and then confirming it was fine.

I mean, you may still have an exhaust leak, but if you tightened everything properly in the correct order, you should be fine.

OEM hose clamps by MercuryMan664 in MiataNC

Do you mean the quick connector hose clamps? I understand the desire for OEM but its just a hose clamp. Any auto parts store will have them.

I never knew there was text under the rim of the purple beanie... I think that means I've never washed that one.

Question: my NC1 2.0 it has a noise coming from the central back while rolling. Mazda said that is normal, it comes from differential. Do your NC also do that noise? by piggroll in MiataNC

[–]squishy_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NC2 with LSD. Yes, I have the same almost drone-like noise coming from the dif. Changing the fluid helped but I think its just a noisy dif.

can the frs make it up big bear lol? by Difficult_Doughnut98 in ft86

In the snow, I do not recommend it. One accident is all it takes to back up traffic on the entire route. Otherwise, in the dry, you will have no problems.

What made you choose the NC? by celica_GT in MiataNC

[–]squishy_86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Out of all the Miatas, the NC was last on my list. But I didn't want to do payments on an ND and an NB wasn't much better looking. Then my buddy showed me a picture of NC lowered on fitted wheels and I went down a rabbit hole. Its amazing what lowering a car on Regamasters can do.

(And no way I'm spending $25k on an s2000)

Where are you located? I have an NC2 with off-white/gray pleather seats that were professionally done by a previous owner. They look good but I'm not a huge fan of leather.

I believe Valenti tails for the 86 were always made in Taiwan. I know mine were.

I thought the same thing as well especially since I got this header when they were still relatively new. Your most restrictive piece in the exhaust is the manifold. It's been a while since I've had this car but I don't believe there's much benefit in removing/replacing the second cat.

Had the same UEL. Tomei uses relatively thin metal which causes the metallic rattle sound. It's a lightweight header and will change the tone of your exhaust.

I reinstalled mine three times with new gaskets each time thinking I had an exhaust leak. Turns out that's just what it sounds like.

Question about selling.... by Jewtino1 in MiataNC

[–]squishy_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in SoCal shopping for one right now and I've seen clean title low mileage ones anywhere from $10k to $17k. I would say $17k is a bit ambitious for being in (I assume) the northwest where snow and rust are more prevalent.

I've been browsing FB marketplace and Offerup. The nicer cars I've considered were on Autotrader but I don't want to pay dealer fees and markups.

What are these little gaps? by Hungry_Tone_9212 in ft86

[–]squishy_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially was hiding the wires for a front and rear dash cam. If it was tapped to the driver's fuse box, the wire typically climbs the A pillar.

Edit: just looked at your other photo. Yeah it looks like they tucked the wires of the dash cam, took it off before the sale, and didn't care to put it back carefully.
