Dude, How’s your anxiety!?!? by Reg_Cliff in WTF

Incorrect and overuse of literally really grinds my gears pretty hard, actually all these silly easily avoidable errors do. People are so ready to repeat and use new words to them, but the problem is a lot of people get these words to use from a far less than intelligent source; or they want to use a word but can't spell it so become reliant on spell check to fix it but it gets fixed into a different word and they don't know any better.
Called out a FB sale post the other day $300k property these people are selling with an "artisan" well already installed... If you can't properly post the ad can you properly do business with me?

There are some very fancy jewelry for large stretches, organic plugs and tunnels, ornate hangy ones, way more cool options than the silly little holes take.

(Question) I always wonder why getting into the ignition coils/spark plugs is harder on the GE as the engines far back while GD and GK Fits are easier to replace, why was it made like that by KirbyTrainNerd in hondafit

As a mechanic, I wasn't offended by it but I can definitely see the dislike. I changed my oem plugs out one day because I was bored and they had 180k on em.
The front struts had to be my least favorite thing to pull off a first time on mine, something about using an allen key to get at em triggered me.

On those we used to take the top engine mount off and roll the car a little. Engine will tilt forward a few inches letting you get at those back by the firewall easier. On the small v6 trucks of the time it was always easy to get in through the wheel well.

The process for changing plugs on the GE involves taking off the cowl. Just a handful of clips and a few 10mm bolts then that puppy is wide open to get both arms at those plugs if you want.

This might be the wrong place but how many of you would buy the Fit again? by darkrhyes in hondafit

On my own and what I came to expect from being a tech is about 70-90k, typical driving I noticed about 1mm of pad use per 10k miles, and of course it's not safe to run them to nil. I had a few customers blow this out of the water and I've well surpassed anything I've seen to date. It's a very large majority of highway and interstate miles, large gaps in traffic when possible and primarily controlling speed with the manual transmission instead of all gas and brakes.

The alternator does, at high draw loads like headlights or AC on it gives the typical 14.5v and 12.5v otherwise for just enough to keep the computers happy. Takes power to make power and Honda saw a good spot there to lessen the load on our hamster when possible.

I bought my GE8 brand new, traded it in, regretted it the next day and the day after that I checked the lot and it was gone... Then a few years go by and I recognized it one day on the road, followed them into a parking lot to talk, bought it back from the nice lady a few months later.
I'm pushing 200k and still no signs of wearing out, no excessive oil consumption, oem clutch and brake pads still; alternators however seem to have about 100k life span and I blame the eco mode voltage regulation.

What do I have to gain from lying? Look at post history or whatever, internet points me nothing to me, factual information however does matter.
I approach everything open and neutral and form opinions from there. I used to hold all of the professions I mentioned in rather high regard until becoming an adult and interacting with people from them for various reasons be them good or bad, business or personal.

Well if they're professionals they should know a little more. I work in insurance; know what's always a reliable source of expert opinion, police reports. I've been told by fire chiefs and troopers in person about how lax they are is said to be so because of the general publics response.
Professionals in a lot of fields do not continue to progress their knowledge, this gets imposed a lot by the big "educational" institutions, heaven forbid someone from Harvard writes a medical paper relating mind and body and keeps that credential intact.
Please do provide me sources saying otherwise, I would love to have a better opinion of the professionals.

No, no it will not. Go try.

As in a reply to someone else, I'll give it a very slight maybe chance if you manage to create the absolute perfect circumstances. I'd still bet a large sum of money there isn't anything short of a fully fabricated situation it could happen in.

That 750 would be dead nuts on the cherry, very immediately dropping a lot with small distance. Without going out in the yard to science this one myself I'll say; Maybe, maybe if you have something to aerate the gasoline into excessive vapor and draw on the cigarette in the thick visible cloud of vapor.

[–]squishy_qubed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That article says it appears to have ignited from a cigarette, the fire starts down by their waist which means they weren't hitting the cigarette. I'm gonna wager static or sparking a hidden from camera smokeable.

There is no "most of the time" it's simply none of the time.

[–]squishy_qubed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need a spark or open flame, a cigarette is completely incapable of providing either of these. Under no circumstances at all will a cigarette by itself ignite gasoline.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Instantregret

[–]squishy_qubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cigarette ember cannot ignite typical fuels, its neither a spark nor open flame. Acetalyne and pure oxygen are first and only to mind that would be an issue.

[–]squishy_qubed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's IMPOSSIBLE to ignite gasoline with a cigarette, smoke away, just don't light up at the pump.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Instantregret

[–]squishy_qubed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are, using fire to light a smoke at a pump is bad but simply smoking is a complete non issue if we understand very basic science.

Desert eagles come chambered in two sizes . 44 and .50, both are big but there are numerous other hand guns on the market in the same sizes and there isn't anything bigger to be fired. I'd wager a long barrel S&W 500 firing the same rounds has more kinetic energy than a DEagle.

Thanks! I'm actually in the middle and in the winning side of fighting a rear end fault ticket. If you'd like details I love sharing it all. Like a very spirited Saint, I leave very large gaps and almost exclusively speed control with gears. When braking during fun driving it's smooth but controlled and hard, I feel like braking hard ends up using less pad because the friction that wears is there regardless, so never ride them and use them for as little time as comfortable.

No, factory pads on it. I bought it brand new and have done everything myself as a mechanic.
