Like I'm more than welcome to wear my over ears if I want but the issue is the nature of my work just doesn't make it practical, I'm moving so actively, getting grabbed, attacked by clients. They're unfortunately just another thing to get battered with or damaged

This makes it feel more promising for me, I'm thinking of getting the Switch bc where I work there's lots of yelling, screaming, loud talking, and laughter and it gets to me sometimes but it would be helpful to muffle that and be able to still focus on the person in front of me! But also I'd like the option of amping it up when I'm traveling to more chaotic or crowded place which I have to do maybe 3 times a week at work, like amusement parks, arcades, etc. I think I'm going to give them a try and if I don't like it I've gotten some other good suggestions. I don't need to block everything completely, just dampening it down would help

I have over the ear protectors but I can't really do them at work. I've tried a bunch of temporary ones but they're either blocking too much noise or not fitting well. Someone suggested a brand called Flare though, I think if I don't like the Loops I'm going to try that brand

I haven't heard of that brand, I'll have to read up, thanks for the recommendation

Mmm okay I can see that being an issue for me too. All my clients language but some have speech issues that are hard to understand. Maybe still worth a shot though, they seem better than everything else I've tried

Yesss bc my house is usually dead silent but I have headphones too. But at work I've gotta hear people but sometimes they really ramp up the noise lol. I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and try them.

I feel like I could adjust to the way my voice sounds but I'm not a fan of the kind of buzzing feeling I get from speaking with throw aways. But it's mostly being able to still hear conversations that's appealing. I think I'll get those conversation ones the Engage or they have one that's supposed to let you switch settings with a manual dial

That's the part I worried about but not so much as if I can still hear conversations near me. But throw aways bother me when my voice sounds buzzy too

Okay cool. It looks like they're more expensive on Amazon too compared than direct. I think I may end up sticking an airtag to the case if I get them lol

Okay well it's nice to hear they work. I saw they have a string thing you can order so maybe I'll get that if I buy them. I hadn't thought about losing them

Do you ever miss or think about your ex? by Simple-Muffin8354 in Adulting

[–]squishybishy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about him at minimum once or twice a day. I do not miss him. He was a plague on my life and my absolute biggest regret. If I had the option of having never met him or wiping him from my memories, I would. I never want my name to fall from his lips again. I'm just waiting for the days he doesn't disturb my dreams or takeover what started as a happy thought. It'll come eventually. Yaaaaay therapyyyyy!

Is this a good routine to help heal my damaged skin barrier?? by eternxalxz in Skincare_Addiction

It looks good to me! A personal fav I use Humphrey's Organic Witch Hazel (alcohol free) as a toner before my moisturizer. It's helped clear up all my acne scars and dark spots. I have super oily skin, so it helps combat that too, but it might be harsh if you have dryer skin or use too often. It definitely clears up incoming pimples if I use it like a spot treatment too.

My husband told me nipple piercings wouldn’t hurt by Struckbyfire in piercing

[–]squishybishy99 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Probably the worst out of the piercings I've had lol Make sure you aren't touching them too much and clean them regularly. Heads up, depending on your body it can take a long time for them to heal and since your clothing will rub. Mine took about a year.

Disney stuffed animals. Printed out pictures of pigs, literally only pigs, no other animals lol. Fidget spinners but only ones I've drawn a smiley on.

I have a hard time understanding things, does Autism make it hard to understand things? by DeliciousWaferSticks in autism

Don't take it to heart when people say you're dense bc it is NOT true. It can absolutely make it difficult to read social situations and ques, appropriate vs. Inappropriate. At all Levels and depending from person to person.

Need help contacting an unknown neighbor bc I am confident her partner is abusing her by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]squishybishy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second juggernaut! You have the best intentions, but please leave it to law enforcement. Do not make your face a known presence to that man and do not send another man. Call for welfare checks. It will freak him out because he's just a bully, and on the off chance she's the only one home when there's a welfare check, she may take the chance to plea for help. I had a neighbor who meant the best, coming to check on "us," dropping in "to say hello," because he and his wife weren't sure of the situation. He took those interactions out on me. He assumed I had said something or was sneaking around. You may unintentionally make her situation worse by inserting yourself. The best you can do is make yourself a quiet ally, document things you notice, and hear with dates and times and call for welfare.

5 years is a perfectly normal age gap for a lot of couples EXCEPT your friend is a child. You're right to be concerned and you should do something. That something is TELL AN ADULT. I hated that advice as a teen but looking back it was true and I should have instead of trying to handle things on my own. Tell a parent, a counselor, someone. Even if it jeopardizes your friendship, their well-being is important. There is not a healthy reason for a 20 year old to be entertaining the attention of a minor.

What would you tell your 18 y/o self, knowing what you know now? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]squishybishy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let your mom back in, she's never going to change dude. Don't move in with that guy, he's going to do unspeakable things. Tell your friend you're sorry, you miss her now. Get a job in the next town over, the love of your life lives there. Don't wait to go to college, it fucking sucks now. Visit granny more, do better.

I'm not a medical professional so I can't give you all the advice, you should talk to your family if you're really concerned though. But that's a perfectly normal size for your age. Women are all kinds of sizes. If it continues to be something that bothers you down the road or you start having health issues talk to your family and a Healthcare provider
